  1. Most AYA no 2 I've seen are very very plain to look at with wood more akin to floorboards than a nice SXS. If you can find a nice AYA they can be very nice guns. I personally like the model 53 in silver coin finish with gold washed locks. A fella I worked with had a lovely 20 bore I once had a go with, a Macnab Highlander Teal. Made by decent company iirc

    Masterchef

Rachel Khoo or Rachel Allen for me. I better not start on what of theirs I'd like to eat. Some of the food Marcus Wareing and the other chef cook looks delicious some of the carp the wanna bees produce shouldn't be allowed space on a plate. Great to watch though.
  3. Either the lid or the base It's usually what's left over in the stock bins when they change to new lines, Just Cartridges use the term Bin Ends the same way DFS have a sale that will end soon.
  4. Beretta did some 31/2" chambered Over and Under shotguns. Yildiz do a SxS Wildfowling gun that get good reviews and reports, cheap enough to buy new.
  5. I good gunsmith should be able to shorten it. You could do it yourself then glue with epoxy resin a plate inside to screw the but pad onto.
  6. Some rather nice wood butchery Team Tractor. What's your favourite type jobs to work on and what's your favourite wood?
  7. You will have to bismuth then. See if you can find bismuth in three shot and keep the range sensible.
  8. There are some good videos on you tube of your average joe testing a good range of carts at different distances and showing the patterns. Surprising is when you get up to the higher speed steel it blows it's pattern, around the 1400 fps mark they seem to pattern best.
  9. Have a look online and see if there is something showing how your guns ISVs are removed before attempting. If it looks difficult give to a good gunsmith to do. I've found if something is stuck fast a good spray of release agent and a light tapping to the part and leaving it a while to penetrate works, if still stuck tapping the end of the tool at same time as trying turn out can help release it. Like hitting the end of a drive through screwdriver on stuck machine screws.
  10. The Beretta side by sides were criticised for being overly complicated inside. Nice looking guns but I'd go for a Arrietta or AYA.
  11. Steel accelerates quicker but slows quicker too so depends. On the marsh anything close gets next to no forward allowance and anything at distance I shoot the same as I would a clay at the same range. Works for me.
  12. If you put a lightly oiled mop down the barrels after cleaning any pitting should never get worse.
  13. Farma geddon that's what choke is for. Each to his own. The only bad cartridge is poorly made ones that have hard primers that don't go bang or misshapen and won't fit in your gun.
  14. Be careful going inside excavations as plenty of folk have been buried alive when the sides cave in.
  15. They did have puddles but we're very deep and need some infill that will probably sort out the drainage by bringing up the level to above the ground behind them. Look very good and will give them who will probably never shoot grouse a feel of what it's like.
  16. Just use two phones a lot easier
  17. The Grouse Butts have been dug into the ground now and it's looking like it will be fun when finished.
  18. As you say Fenboy no such thing as bad carts just some you prefer some you don't but we get used to whatever we are shooting. For me a good cart is one that's cheap and patterns well through my gun after that I can spend time and get used to them.
  19. George where is the video you want to add onto here? If it's on your computer you need to upload it to you tube first as it will be to big for this site otherwise. When it's uploaded one of us will put the link on here for you I've had a look online and on You Tube and can't find your video George. If it's on your computer I'm sure one of the mods with a beard is a bit of a whizz with videos might be able to help or point you in the right direction.
  20. Friends have the Armsan A612 and it's literally a Beretta rip off with a few differences, you would think the parts would interchange when you see them. Very good value for money second hand and new. The Baikal MP153 is another very reliable gun that can withstand some silly amounts of abuse, but I find them short in the stock and front heavy. Try them if you can before making a choice, if you have another gun you use and the semi is only for bad weather I wouldn't be buying a big brand if buget was an issue.
  21. Have to agree if your going to go to the bother and expense of a bespoke fitted stock your better choosing some good choice wood.
  22. Ha ha never one to miss a opertunity are you George. I'm sure you will manage.
  23. Copy the webpage address and paste it here into your post. People can then click on the link to your video page. Other than that best ask a moderator.
  24. Don't think it will jam with wildfowling loads. It's the lighter clay loads they tend to jam with until fully cleaned and lubed. My Beretta semi auto will not run clay loads dry until it gets warmed up so it always gets the slide rails re oiled before an outing to clay ground. When going fowling I don't bother as I run dry lube on it.
