  1. The motorcycle speed cameras locally are ridden by officers with 'high-viz' clothing that would not be out of place in a pigeon hide. Its a particularly dark shade of green that is very difficult to see when they are lurking at the side of a rural road. I don't doubt its effectiveness in an urban setting but you get the idea that its being done deliberately.
  2. Bargain for somebody. Wish I was closer.
  3. Not starting an auction but speaking to a West Country keeper at the weekend he said that his estate were going to charge £70 per bird next season. Oh - and they're booked up solid too!
  4. They work fine and a decent one will be fairly bombproof. Parts are cheap and easy to find if you have a problem. If you can find one, the 391ST with a stepped rib is a brilliant gun.
  5. I have a pot of 'high performance engineering grease with PTFE'. Just ordinary brown stuff as far as I can see. Its years old and used sparingly, as you should, it will last for a few more years yet. Doesn't go black either like the Schmeierfix does. Not sure that you need anything extraordinary or expensive to use on a shotgun.
  6. Avon & Somerset work hard and are are always helpful, without exception.
  7. The worst lights I ever had on a car were on a 330D BMW. Some cheapskate had ordered halogens when it was new. It would do over 150mph but the lights came from the 1960's.
  8. Bridgewater is a city located in Plymouth County, in the state of Massachusetts, United States. As of the 2020 U.S. Census, the city's population was 28,633. Bridgewater is located approximately 25 miles south of Boston and approximately 35 miles east of Providence, Rhode Island. Wikipedia I don't think your gun came from Somerset originally but from somewhere much further away! The Somerset Bridgwater has no "e" in it.
  9. These are excellent guns. Wonderful engineering. Sadly under-valued by the UK gun trade. This is a bargain.
  10. Don't mess with it. On or around the pin is perfect. If you're not careful you will make a mess of the balance and you won't know where you are. Leave it alone.
  11. The 690 is a bit ordinary. The best of the current Berettas is the 695. Feels like a proper gun and is miles in front of the 692/694. In my opinion.
  12. Its a good ground. Sean Ponting owns it together with Gunsite, just down the road. Targets are realistic and hittable, a mixture of everything. Have a look at the scores from last Sunday and you'll see what I mean. I'll give you a shout next time we're going.
  13. It’s only worth travelling that far for competitions. For a mess about anywhere will do.... well almost anywhere.
  14. I don't consider 45 miles too far to go and shoot decent targets. We did 95 miles each way last Sunday to shoot Hangmanstone. A friend of mine from Cornwall regularly travels to Owls Lodge and Westfield to shoot. Best part of 300 miles there and back. You have to be keen mind.
  15. Apologies, I thought you were travelling from Ringwood. Have you thought about buying your own shooting ground? That would cut down on the travelling.
  16. I just hope the cyclists, pedestrians and horse riders take notice of this change in the code. As is usual with these things, its the motorist who is seen as the biggest threat to these groups and its wide open for abuse.
  17. You could fasten it to the ceiling if you wanted to.
  18. Buy a Teague tapered drift choke key.
  19. Try UK Gun Repairs, Taunton 01823 433201. Or Coombe Farm Sporting 01460 279595. Good luck.
  20. No need to be sorry. Its only your opinion and although I disagree with you its still only your opinion.
