  1. And then id fraud becomes a one-stop shop. The best reason there is for staying with multiple low-level identifiers is that it makes it far more difficult to impersonate someone. Not impossible, but more difficult. As soon as you have a single, high-level identifier, your criminal just has to compromise one identifier, and the job is done: computer says yes. And in the UK we are not required to prove our identity to the authorities unless we are actually arrested. See Willcock v Muckle, 1952. Also see "function creep". And while you're at it, see "'nothing to hide, nothing to fear' fallacy". None whatsoever.
  2. Number one son has just had his interview, (application went in over Christmas) so fingers crossed the team will be as quick with his as they were with yours...
  3. Two gorgeous pieces there, Feltwad Love the Canton rifle (cannon?)
  4. You expect moderate, neutral language from the press? That won't sell many newspapers :(
  5. GPS, I think - records position and movement for later analysis
  6. ROFLMAO I am sooooooo stealing that one!
  7. Evanescence: My Immortal
  8. You need a pilot to get under PH bridge now? Went through it several times when I was a nipper, although ability to get under it was always one of our boat selection criteria. Many happy memories of sailing dinghies around various Broads I treasure the memory of watching a teenager showing off in his Lazer on Salhouse Broad, tacking furiously across and back, until, scampering across from one side to the other on a track, he missed his toe strap and did a neat backward roll out of his boat. I was nearly sick with laughing
  9. If you have the system flushed with the cleaning agent, be prepared for some leaks...
  10. Iszmash are bringing out a new Baikal semi auto, the MP156, based on an inertia mechanism. Be interesting to see if it matches up to the MP153, given that the MP-155 was something of a disappointment. Hmmm - have to put the hyphen in there to avoid the obscenity filter!
  11. ^^^^^^ This. You'll regret it the second the buyer walks out of your door.
