  1. I think that's fine because it's a vie of a public place or from a public place. I think issues arise if you were capturing a view that wouldn't be judges as that. Ie private back garden or bedroom windows etc. Where people wouldn't expect to be seen from a public place.
  2. Oh different kettle of fish, ignore what I said!
  3. Important to point out Rolls Royce (company) don't make cars, they make jet engines, nuclear reactors and other defence and aviation items. I think they were hit very hard by the pandemic but have sold off an number of business they had so that's what probably makes the books look better. Also the defence side has been stable and if sales have been way down the last couple of years it isnt hard to have a big increase. As I understand it they make most of their money from engine servicing so the more long haul flights the more money they make.
  4. Thanks guys. I'm going to the local clay grounds bit I'm also getting back into training my cocker now the move is done so that should help make some contacts.
  5. Thanks for the great suggestions chaps and I can assure you I have thought about all of them. Unfortunately, I'm not on Facebook and don't particularly like the idea of joining but if that's the place to go to find shooting these days then I may have to.
  6. I know it's a long shot but I also know a lot of the good folk on here are well connected. I'm currently treasurer of a DIY syndicate and a roving syndicate on that Hants/wilts border. Unfortunately the wife has made me move to Essex and the travel is starting to take a toll for shooting days. I dont gave any contacts in the shooting wold in Essex but would ideally like to move some of my shooting over there. DIY syndicate preferred but would be interested in an opportunities + beating and if anybody wants weekend company in a pigeon hide. All the best Alex
  7. That sounds a lot like what people selling a different product would say?
  8. None they are all driving humvees and Ford F350s gifted to them by the yanks!
  9. I didn't have a great experience with the shop but I think what they are doing on YouTube is great for the sport. High quality videos that are balanced and informative. Thats how you get people hooked on field sports. I would love a longthorne, they look great and well engineered in England which is a rarity. Unfortunately it's never going to happen, but I wouldn't turn a free one down.
  10. Firstly everybody needs to remember nitro proof is perfectly acceptable for standard steel. Steel proof is only required for high performance steel. There is guidance on choke size from the proof houses which is much less conservative than what manufacturer's recommend. Also steel proof is the same pressure as superior nitro proof it comes down to the energy exerted on the chokes. That means there is no danger of a catastrophic failure, only bulging of the choke. So if the barrel won't take it you could pay for a proof house to destroy you barrels or you could just shoot it for free to find out. If you barrel does develop a ring bulge at the choke this is still not a safety concern and you can continue to use the gun. However it will no longer be viewed as in proof for sale. Always remember if you ask a proof house or RFD if a gun is OK they can only tell you what the proof marks say. That isn't isn't same thing as it being perfectly OK regardless of proof marks. There is a good video by TGS on YouTube on this from about a year ago. Worth a watch as it goes though the actual proof house guidance, not local hear say.
  11. Ever considered the fact you wife may now be dead if she hadn't had the vaccine then? I can't believe some of the drivel being touted as fact on here sometimes.
  12. Please refrain from spreading unsubstantiated gossip it doesn't help with all the confusion in the world. Dr Chris shared the data and tried to be as open as possible, make of that what you want but atleast it's reviewed by our own people.
  13. I would go with cordless and barrel grip. Much more natural than the handle way up high.
  14. Where abouts are you exactly? Another option is see if you can forward the shoot invite in exchange for the pheasants?
  15. Condition looks good but I would say only the combination square set, angle blocks and what may be a bore micrometer are worth anything really. With the box you may be in the 150 ball park for the right person but worth comparing with ebay prices.
  16. Like people say most of these tools only go for a few pounds each unless they are a bit rare. The other thing to think about is condition. Precision tools that are not in top condition are no longer precision tools and therefore worthless. I would be interested in looking what you have, mainly as I do like these old things. Box depends on quality and condition. A good quality hardwood box in good condition can be worth quite a bit.
  17. Well that's good news then! Can put some of that money back into the system then when the estate needs to be settled!
  18. I sent my photo card in for renewal in July and I'm still waiting to get anything back so good luck! The phone lines are constantly engaged so good luck with any enquiries.
  19. No because I am happy with 75 - 100 bird days. You are talking about the cost of the tip on these days, does the keepers tip make these days unaffordable for the average person? You can either afford what you want to do or you to do or you can't. Then you have to look at options. A) shoot less birds. B) shoot closer birds. C) home load your own steel beyond CIP. Standard steel is good for 35 yards. On my admittedly bad syndicate some people think a 20 yard pheasant is out of range. Are you really shooting 40+ yard pheasants on a regular basis and could you still have a good day shooting within that?
