SSS
£30 SAK is best value for money, they are all the same noise level really, not that we would hear the difference!
shoughton
SAK on mine - and I struggle to believe that anythiny could be any quieter! It really is very quiet. Steve
mick miller
As with everyone else a SAK will do the job.

bullet boy
I have a SAK on my Ruger10/22.This mod is good enough and for £35 it's not breaking the bank!
Beretta28g
I got a parker hale, and am forever regreting that i did not get a sak.
bullet boy
I got a parker hale, and am forever regreting that i did not get a sak. You can buy a SAK and also use it for air-rifle,without putting it on your licence.
Frenchieboy
To be honest I personally would never even think about anything other than a SAK for either a .22LR or a 17HMR. There might be marginally better ones out there but for the price you will have to go a long way to find a better mod than a SAK mate!
arjimlad
I know it is a boring post but my CZ did a one hole group with SAK at 65 yds the other day. And it is quiet.
wildfowler.250
Sako is good. Got a SAK on my hmr and that does the job too
bicykillgaz
got a sako on mine i've tried a few and so has my old man but the sako is the quietest and only £30 i'll buy another as and when i need one  there's a bloke on here who did a test on the the sako, sak (i think) and another and the sako was quietest it was in sporting video's i think  there a little longer than the sak but a fair bit thinner

Ian750
Can't fault you there mate, in your position I think I'd have run into the shop waving a wad of cash too!
Dekers
I have tried almost everything you can get for a .22lr. (even tried a few centrefire mods on them) Yes, there are diffences, but if you fire subs the difference really isn't worth worrying about. If you fire HV then they are all noisy, and the difference isn't really worth worrying about either.....and get out of your head that spending the likes of £125 on a Whisper is a good idea.....it is only a good idea for Andrew Banner who makes a living out of the Whisper!! I have a Sirocco, and had/used a lot of others, SAK is on my .22lr and my .22WMR, when the Sirocco dies it will be a SAK on the .17HMR as well. SAK makes life easy!! Colster
Just a little side question, not wishing to hijack but this thread is full of silencer knowedgeable types. Do they make SAK's specifically for HMR or is it just one size fits all, in either case could I use the SAK off my .22LR on an HMR?

One size fits all (and it's .22)......can't help thinking if they simply changed the front fitting to .17 and left everything else the same, it would be better on a .17. Dekers
What about the wildcat cub? It is very possibly the worst rimfire mod you can buy, nevertheless, it will be quieter than without one. I was given one on sale or return about a year ago to test by my local RFD, it went back!
