The Duke
Ok so i have an afternoon free and have no jobs to do makes a change for a sunday afternoon, so thought i might venture out into the shed to make some airgun targets, got some olg angle iron and plate etc so was thinking of making some falling plates and spinners, anyone else got any ideas for some interesting targets?? also heard about bell targets, now do you shoot the bell (would the bell last that long?) or do you shoot a little plate on some sort of spring mechanism which rings the bell?? Bell target, metal plate with small hole in the centre and a bell behind, shoot bell through hole, normally @ 10mtrs. This is still played/shot in some pubs, just google it. I made a spinner with some old tea spoons. I twisted the heads at 90* drilled a hole through the handles. Cot some tube, I used copper, a couple of inches long. Thread copper, spoon, copper, spoon etc on to some string. Made a wooden frame to hang them from and bobs your uncle, fannies your aunt. pabs
Reactive targets are fun. Sticks of chalk, small clays, daughter running around with target on back etc......
Albion
Rotten fruit. Tomatoes and apples are favourites. A piece of old shirt filled with flour, tied up and hung by a string looks good

Edward
one of my faves that I saw on here a bit back, wire coat hanger/wire, empty shotgun carts (what ever size you want to shoot) and corks. Open the coat hanger out to a square with no bottom and drill holes in the open end of the cart and arrange on the coat hanger, cork cart cork cart cork etc

Sha Bu Le
Beer bottle tops..they really spin off when you get them spot on, put 10 up and I'll bet you will look all over for 3 afterwards Typo correction Edited January 10, 2011 by Sha Bu Le
The Duncan
Good fun ones (especially for 10-11 yo boys) are those super cheap rola cola fizzy pop mini bottles. Give em a damn good shake first and set them out at different ranges - kids love how they explode and fizz like liquid fireworks (some adults too, apparently)

demonwolf444
i understand everyone doesnt have an aga, it just speeds up this process, steal some of your wives pastry cutters and roling pin. get your self some clay and roll it out really thin 1-2mm 3mm max, cut in to circles of desired size and either then leave somewhere to dry like an airing cupboard or put on a tray in the aga and allow to dry out for a while , when dry just paint,, i like to do big batches at a time , all different sizes and paint them yellow. when you shoot them they shatter if they are bigger or the smaller ones explode in a little cloud of dust. time consuming but just a bit of fun

Wharf Rat
Washing line. Cut into 4" strips and dangling. You can see where you hit it as the plastic covering chips off. DON'T hang anything on the end though - if it's taught it may cause a ricochet.
