I wanted to find out about snap caps.

I also wanted to know whether to go for CPSA / BASC or SACs insurance.

I also wanted to know the best cartridge for buzzard.

I joined to tell you all I would be shooting geese with lead "as I had some left"

Also how I shoot Canada's with a 22. Air rifle and to show you all my 800 yd 17hmr bunny shot ;)

Great little site altogether though :good:

i am in a fortunate position that i can sit at a computer mon-fri 9-5 and pop on and off various websites all day while i am working , so i have noticed that a lot more posts these days are from people just joining and then asking for stuff ....it might be gear or more commonly shooting..... now i have been at this game for 30+years and was always prepared like in life to make my own way in my chosen hobby as did most of the people i know but hell there seems to be a lot of free loaders connected to not only this site but others too....is it just a trend or is it as things are these days

don't get me wrong i'm not knocking people for trying but it does seem sometimes that people just start shooting on a whim and not got anyone else into shooting to share with...i read somewhere about a lad who was 1st time app for sgc and his gf was more or less anti....that's life i suppose

Similar but my day is a bit longer and I can't really leave the desk much so I use as a bit of escapism at times when it's quiet. I have permissions but they are too far from where I live (central London until I escape back to Essex soon) to use in any meaningful way.

Basically I am a frustrated shooter who enjoys reading about others enjoyment of the sport as my lifestyle doesn't allow much at the moment.

(FYI I'm not a complete walt, I have SGC and do some driven shooting and occasional stalking with estate rifles, I just would rather get involved in branches of the sport that are a little less 'packaged')

I joined as I love all aspects of shooting, I always thought forums where a bit sad, and I was always browsing this forum with interest, one day I just thought I would join, Pigeonwatch is my favourtite forum, I know who the douchebag members are, but there are also some very knowledgeable members on here, I have learnt an awful lot on here too.

BUT, everytime I mention Pigeonwatch infront of my friends or they see me on the site, the rip the **** out of me because of the name, and start mocking me watching pigeons, (as that is what the name means) lol.

But all in all, a great site. :good:

Was a returner to shooting after a good few years layoff so when I was googling some info, a link popped up to here and the rest as they say is history.

That being said, I have probably learned more in the time I have been a member than I did all the years shooting beforehand thanks to the many friends I have made and people I have met because of this site.

Yes, then I changed it to "One Shot One Kill"

Then "Stealth Killa Bitchmutha"

Then "Ex-SAS Veteran Hero Sniper"

Then I settled on Chard, because I didn't want to sound like a complete cock

Oh, so not because you're a vegetable :exclamation: :o

http://www.bbc.co.uk/food/chard :lol::lol:

Cannot remember why I joined but glad I did

I actually think its very hard in certain areas to find somewhere to shoot. I myself have been shooting for a number of years. Mainly air rifles which I have a small permission for. After many days going round farms and asking for use of their land. I have tried every trick and offered everything from cash and booze to free labour. Which has resulted in a long line of no's. I joined this site to look for land yes as I figured it was worth a try. (have realised now it wasn't). Luckily I hung around and have found some very useful tips both to improve my shooting and hopefully my chances of getting land.

I have seen many shooters on here with big permissions in the areas around the Wirral and wish I was as lucky as you guys, I realise this takes time and effort and certainly wouldn't class myself as a freeloader.

I'd just started clay shooting and was looking for advice on a good competant coach. I googled it and ended up here :hmm: . Fate can play cruel tricks on you  .

I stay because of some priceless threads and some truly funny replies. I've met some utter cocks from here as well and shooting with them makes me look good :good:
