Rimfireboy
I tend to leave knives behind when I've been paunching rabbits. I've lost my current knife twice and gone back and found it in the daylight. Lost a few though, over the years.

WoodyPopper
Motorbike key - while I was on the bike, with the engine still running! I got home, stopped to say hello to a neighbour and then looked down and saw the keys were gone. Luckily I had a spare key. I looked everywhere for that key. I even got a torch and looked down inside the fairing. I seriously began to believe it was a supernatural event. A year later, I had to take the fairing off for some maintenance, and there were the keys, tucked down between the fairing and the radiator hose. I would never have seen them with the fairing still on. I guess my glove must have brushed over the key while I was talking, just enough to flip it out of the ignition. Tad-blody
A friend of my dad's lost one of the locks from a detachable sidelock side by side on a Saturday afternoon walked up shoot. We retraced the previous afternoon's route and were set to give up when we found it not 10 feet from his car on the path back in to the farmyard. And another aquaintance lost and never found the forend of his Vostock (posh Baikal) after leaving it on the roof of his car and driving off. shaun4860
pair of Ray Ban aviators whilst at work (HGV driver) looked everywhere, bought a new pair, about a year later the fitters at work found them when they had to take the seat out of the wagon. Found a driving licence once whilst getting mine back from a wagon seat..... As an adage, on of the bosses at work was showing me a pair of Ray Bans he had bought on holiday, asked what he had paid, he replied around £65, his face was a picture when I pointed out the writing on the lens actually said Ray BOYS.....
