bruno22rf
Has anyone on this site ever been caught with an Airgun over the limit? or even had their gun taken for testing? Not a mate or a mate of a mates dog breeder but you, yourself?I have been stopped several times by the police whilst shooting Airguns but they have never even mentioned the power situation-only time I got told off was for wearing cammo gear while walking along the road to my shoot. bruno22rf
Nope-had to promise not to wear cammo gear until i was out of site of the road because i could alarm people-seemed best to humour the tool so i played along with his little game-never seen him since and wear as much cammo as i can, even bought a pair of cammo boots. FalconFN
I think for anyone to have a rifle tested they will probably have been caught, or suspected of, doing a serious crime that wouldn't necessarily have anything to do with the air rifle in question. Having an illegal firearm would be another way to bag them if the original case fell apart.

Underdog
The only time I was stopped was when 14. They got out the car and asked about the gun in the gun bag. Then the asked to see it and immediatly checked to see if it was loaded as in pellet in the breech. Thats it and off they went. They did say that had there been a pellet in the breech they would of confiscated it!! U.
Clubshot
Camo gear is Banned on Bisley Ranges Based on it being a Joint Use Range And Only Military are aloud to wear it. Aware of Several Shooters loosing it from Vehicles and being recovered and tested being over - I have refused Access to a growing number of Shooters @ my Club - who have signed Visitors Forms That there Guns are set - Sub 12.FB - Club Ranges restricted to Unlicensed Air Guns Yet failed Chrono Tests - when out for Competitions Requested to get them Adjusted before retested and allowed on Club Ranges again BOB/R
kent
I think I should have told those coppers to do one! though I see the point and its something we should consider. Cammo gear worn at ranges? well IMO fine if the guy is predominantly a hunter they maybe don't fancy laying down prone in their better gear? The non hunter wearing combats spooks me a little I must be honest. Tested? it only seems to happen when an offence has been committed or guns taken pending investigation of one. The law unfortunately is a bit of an *** in this regards, intention should have to be proved but it isn't. If in doubt run at 10.5 ft lb, 11.5 is too close

Many people wear Camo gear at Bisley that have nothing to do with the military. As usual this is down to interpretation and definition, I have an old DPM (Military surplus) jacket I keep in the motor and that often comes out at Bisley. Also plenty of Deerhunter, Jack Pike, etc etc on show. I'll have to get out the Bisley Bible and check the wording exactly (if I can be bothered) but I have never come across a camo issue at Bisley in all my years there. Gunnerbob
Last year I won a day at Bisley, through H4H, and was specifically told I must not wear camo gear when I attended. This from the Captain that organised the day.

chrisjpainter
This has slightly deviated, but never mind! The ones I don't get are the american shooters, who go into the wilderness togged up with camo jacket, trousers, hat etc... but then go and put a whacking great orange hi visibility jacket over the top so they don't get shot by fellow Jonny Rambo. No one in my village seems to worry about me walking up to my permission in camo, although I don't put on the balaclava and ghillie suit until i'm on the permission and well off the paths. I've never been stopped over the gun. Mine gets checked regularly over a chrono so i'm not worried about it either! Sometimes I feel like if there's gonna be a limit on the air guns, they should be far more active in enforcing it, otherwise what's the point in having it
HDAV
I think hunter orange is a legal requirement for the US. Camo out of the field does not help one blend in

bruno22rf
I doubt that anybody has,Krugerandsmith, which makes me wonder why people panic so much.As for the cammo at ranges/fairs I dont mind it-but when I was asked not to wear it I was walking along an un classified road about 30 yards from the gate into my permission. retromlc
I think the police are usually un informed and unless you have shot a neighbour or their cat I doubt you would be tested. The time and money involved to do that at random is not a priorty to the police, and like I say if yo ushot someone then it would be a priorty.
