rwade545
Hi all, just came up with a great target to check zero, and to have a little fun shooting with. The mighty ping pong ball! diameter is exactly 1"! from decathalon they have a bag of 8 different coloured ones for the sum of £1.50. Place them on cheap golf tees and have to knock them over. Was trying to make shooting bit more interactive while teaching a friend to shoot.
Frenchieboy
Sounds good. I like to give the guys from our gun club a bit of variety and fun when we get together for a zeroing and plinking session so I might well try that. Eggs make good targets too. there is no half was, when you hit them with a rimfire they scramble quite spectacularly (It can be a bit messy) and if you hit them with a centtre fire they vapourise! If you want something really spectacular try some Firebird Exploding targets, they're expensive but real fun when you hit them. Dekers
I have a massive sack of POND Golf Balls, they can be fun....... But there are always plenty of "lost" Golf balls on the courses, what amazes me is how often I find golf balls on farms and country estates, stables, etc! I always go round my local golf club and collect golf balls for target practice. They can bounce quite high in the air when shot.
kent
Sniper golf has always been popular, when they land you have another un-ranged target! beats walking over and beating them with a club all day
Frenchieboy
or tarion mark chalk targets......i do a holder for them too. Do you think it would be possible or practical to make your own with something like plaster of paris and a mould of some sorts?
steve_b_wales
I've used the airgun chalk targets with good results. The ones I have have little holes in the top, and I attach paper clips to them. I then hang them on a piece of wire/string, which is stretched out between two spikes. SPARKIE
Do you think it would be possible or practical to make your own with something like plaster of paris and a mould of some sorts? yes im sure it would but you would need a latex mold making first might be a bit off a faf......but I have some plaster of paris lurking in the garage if used for making molds with before. I have done exactly the same but with paint balls, slightly smaller target but great practice for your precision centre fire.
