I've had mine for about 3 months and at first all ok but know its just keeps jamming.

its cleaned after every use,i use clear pigeon 32 6's.

Its realy annoying when you have pigeons coming in, you have your first shot ok as its already in the chamber but no second cause its got stuck.

You then spend the next 5 mins trying to free the jammed cart.

I now take my lanber out more now cause its more reliable.

I've got a mossy oak one i think its a 26inch barrel, mainly use it for clay shooting (mainly just because i often pop into the shops after going out after live quarry and find the semi to awkward to take down so i can take the stock with me) and i love it, never had a jam or any other problem with mine.

I clean it after every trip out as with all my other guns, its a lovely gun to look at in my opinion but then i love everything camouflage

From my own experience you wont regret your purchase if you get one and it will hopefully give you years of reliable service.

First day out with my new one took abit to get used to but I loved it in end

had mine about 6 months now camo and love it for the price and using it in the field a great gun 28" but they always say a 28" semi is the equivilent to a 30" o/u. only downside is that anything under 70mm doesn't cycle to well. apart from that no probs and if i use it for clays i hit as much with the escort as i do with my browning 725

Look at the history on this and any other shooing site you want, then make your mind up.

I simply don't understand this suggestion from a few people there is some conspiracy to slag off the Hatsan, and the doubters have never owned one. I owned one, bought it for may lad, the barrel blew up when he fired it after just half a box of carts, and I was stood next to it.

The dealer and Edgar bros were both fully aware this was a GUN fault and NOTHING to do with any user error.

Hatsans are still cheap and nasty and unreliable. Some design features have changed and their quality control has improved, but they have a long way to go. There is nothing wrong with a cheap gun as long as it is SAFE and works, early guns were neither safe and commonly didn't work for long.

Later guns are safer, and reliability issues are improving.

I picked one up a month or so back now (camo version purely for the hide). Generally for the price I love it, It shoots well, low recoil, and I can throw it around without being too worried about it and mainly it does the job etc and had 22 Pigeon on Saturday with it.

However mine does jam a fair bit when It has 3 cartridges in it, I think this maybe because the spring is too strong when feeding the next cartridge through and it pushed both of them out, which is really frustrating when you could have had 2 / 3 birds and instead your left standing there desperately trying to pull out one of the cartridges. I have tried Express Pigeon Specials, Eley Game Load and Rio Game as these are all fibre cartridges but non seem to work consistently well, so im tending to just have one in the barrel and another in the mag.

Do any of the other Escort users have a solution?? (I keep it clean and the O – ring in the right place etc so there should be no reason for it to jam other than Cartridges and the Mag its self…

Im thinking of trading up to a Berretta but I do like the look of the Browning Maxus!

i have recently owned a hatsan escort and i will never ever buy one ever again! you are better off with a used beretta 300 series ie. 303 but if you do get the hatsan you have to keep it clean and the magazine tube oiled and especially ram some pipe cleaners up and down the gas ports in the round bit on the barrel, good luck

I have had mine for a couple of weeks and its spot on ,its the latest model PS with the new gas valve system , last week I was banging 67mm and 70mm through and it was fine , no problems at all , as for keeping them clean , ... well maybe im just old school but what ever gun im using , when im done its stripped and cleaned from head to toe , the Hastan has to be about the easiest to clean , blimey I think there's only 5 bits ha-ha

I use black golds no 5 fibres clear pigeons 6 and Ely Olympics 8 never had a problem

when I first got mine it was fine on a few shots but went clay shooting and it started jamming after about 30 carts through it, couldn't understand why until I realised that the fore-end was moving about a maximum of about 1/4 of an inch towards the end of the barrel when fired, took it back to the shop and on inspection the spacer inside the fore-end where the screw cap is located was the wrong one, it was too short and was letting it go forward too much even when letting the cocking handle go as if loading . they changed it with one out of another gun by removing a spring clip, replacing it with a longer one ( the correct length) which shows the quality control's a bit suspect but it's been great ever since and I love it . although in my previous post it doesn't cycle very good on any carts below 70mm
