bought my second hatsan escort last week and today it went clay shooting. all it done was jam up, misfire, and most of the time fire of both shots at the same time. not very happy. tryed all different kinda of carts and nothing helps. Even Essex gun came out to have. Go and witness it. Maybe I should have bought somthing else.

it literally shoots both, almost as one BANG like when an over and under shoots both barrels. I think the 3 main issues won't be fixed by a strip down and clean though, pulling the trigger and it simply not firing, when it does it fires both shots full auto, it jammed emptys and instead of the receiver locking open once it ejects the final empty it closes again as if it is still cycling the rounds. Essex gun said that it defnatly isn't rite and has some problems. wich is a Shane because I normally like them and stick up for them bang for buck.

If it's a semi auto, piston on the wrong way round or O ring in the wrong place?.

What you're getting is called a slam fire, I've only seen one other reference to it and that was back in 2011, http://www.full-bore.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=2640

Are you sure it's a brand new gun?, did it have the Edgar Bros stickers/labels etc. on it?, more than likely if it is slam firing there's a problem with the trigger group.

Mate, just get your dealer to send it back, definitely not right and could be a trigger group fault.

Pay no attention to the Hatsan rubbishers who have already descended. Just have a look on here about the problems more prestigious makes have. It happens with mechanisms. The good thing is Edgar brothers are outstanding in dealing with faults...my own experience. Try getting that kind of service from GMK for a beretta, again my own experience. ..ended up getting my beretta spares from the US. Dont mess about with the gun just let the dealer and importers sort it.

Could've happened on any new gun. Good Luck mate.

iv got a few videos of it doing it. when if fired both cartridges it does it so fast it almost sound like one shot lol I had a fair few people look at it at the fennes today including Essex gun and anyone who used it had the same result. Essex gun come out with 2 box of different carts to put through it and it still done it, then my black golds done it and same as the Ely first. At wich point I have up and went back to the car. il just return it as most people have said. Thanks for helping.

at least essex gun are admitting theres a fault, when I had a 410 hushpower 3 shot pump from them that was faulty, they said it was user error, and that the gun was perfect, I traded that in (at a loss) for a new 410 sxs yildiz, funnily enough, the safety on that does not set itself like my other yildiz, maybe its a thing with new guns bought from them????

if I'm honest when I mentioned it was shooting off both shots full auto he did say somthing about trigger control and making sure I release my finger all the way, then I explained about the misfires and jamming and he offered to put some cartridges through it himself, first 3 shots was fine and he said it seemed fine then it went full auto on him and he said " bloody hell" lol then it jammed for abit and they changed cartridges and it went full auto again so they had to admit there was a problem (there was also people viewing the full auto Uzi 12 gauge at this point)

Honestly , I hope these cartridge length questions are hatstand haters taking the Michael !

There is a time and a place and slam firing has not got a lot to do with cartridge length

i am not taking the mick, If you read my message I asked about cartridge length due to the jams he had, I wasn't asking about the seperate problem of firing multiple rounds at once, I am not a hatsan hater as I have owned one for about 3 years and put thousands of carts through it without problems but then I have stuck to longer carts which I believe helps to stop jams.

And to the op as said above if it doesn't work right just take it back and get sorted out but sounds like a good shop to come out and try to help you sort the problem so im sure you'll get it all sorted.

I doubt very much that they "came out" especially for him, more like they were shooting at the same ground whilst he was there too

To be fair they did come out to try it and see it happen there shop is almost in the car park of the shoot and they made an effort to Come out and see it.

I did ask for my money back and they said they would swap it and I have decided that once I return the gun all boxed up I will be asking for a refund, not a new hatsan
