Spent the day at work, someone got my breakfast for me, drank tea, went shiopping, washed the car, drank more tea, watched the welsh flower arranging team trying to play rugby, not a bad day really! :good:

Well, after seemingly endless months of wetness, now it's turned warm & dry. So out with the mower which didn't want to start, how ungrateful, I've just given you a new spark plug & oil change! Eventually it started & gave the front lawn a quick cut followed by scarifying: 2 cubic metres of moss & thatch out of 50 square metres of grass, and there's more still to be pulled out!

I'll worry about the back lawn once my aching body's got over the front one.

Sacked "Green Thumb" last autumn having seen how little they did for my money. At least I'm now semi-retired so can spend more time trying to achieve a passable lawn.

No sun here today [there was plenty yesterday].

Edged the long border, removed leaves and weeded - making progress before lunch.

Choral evensong at local church and then tea at friends - scones, cake the lot.

Now for a beer and Borgen series 3 on DVd

all back home for sunday lunch.

with zero complaints from the kids (8 and 5).
