Munich

There's a lot of history there, it's where Hitler held many of his big rallies in the early days, but they don't publicise this much.

I had a mate take me round and tell me all about it but there are bound to be guided tours you can do!

And plenty of beer.

Nial.

Munich is a great place to go. Went there last year for a week with work.

Is a very famous drinking house, live brass oompah band and cheap and tasty large pils are to die for, plus no hangover the next day!

If you want to eat there is a restaurant just opposite which has excellent meat dishes. The ham hock is huge and to die for.

Enjoy it's a beautiful place, the underground is cheap and great for getting around.

If I were you I would all order some 'tour' shirts (I suggest a lightish brown colour) and then hightail it to the nearest beer hall and have yourself a putsch.

What could possibly go wrong?

Didn't they make Mopeds?

Complete the holiday with a drive through the Ardennes then sweep North and west via Arras to the Channel ports.

But one advises not moving east after larging it in paris for a few months.Best left that one.

Hanks for the suggestions folks. Stag has suggested clay pigeon shooting for one of the days to try keep off the drink. Anyone know if there is anywhere. Google just throws up stag organising companies and they want £75 each for 25 shots!

How about full bore pistols? Munichs Olympic stadium has some top class ranges and host ISSF comps. Bit more exotic than clays, you might find a "running boar" range nearby too large calibre CF rifles at a moving target !!!

Munich is a beautiful city with stunning scenery around - the Bavarian Alps are fantastic and well worth a drive to - Garmisch Partenkirken, the scene of the Winter Olympics is a great place to see - funicular railway & cable car. http://www.gapa.de/

The German film museum at Munich is very interesting - scenes for the U Boat series Das Boot were filmed there http://www.muenchen.de/int/en/events/movie-broadcast/filmmuseum.html

Also Munich is the home of BMW so if you or your friends are petrol heads, here goes http://www.bmw-welt.com/en/visitor_information/guided_tours/museum.html

Gutes Reisen!

How long are you going for.You could do a visit to Berchtesgaden and visit Hitler's Eagles Nest. Then in Munich there is The Third Reich walking tour(about £15)It is quite easy to organise a brewery tour. You have to do the Hofbrauhaus biggest boozer in the world I believe.Grab a currywurst and pommes(sausage curry sauce and chips)Superb.

Dachau isn't too far away from Munich.

That's always a cracking stag night staple!!

As said, the Hofbrauhaus is a must see, but other than that, the English Garden's nice and so is some of the architecture, but outside of Oktoberfest, Munich's not much of a giggle really. BMW museum?
