955i
I have been a very good boy and decided to treat myself to a new bike, but struggling to decide which so I thought I'd ask others views. Choices are: 1) Speed Triple 1050 2) Triumph Tiger 1050 3) Aprilia Tuono Edited June 16, 2014 by 955i

Ollieollie
Not into bikes at all but it would be the first one for me, I'm sure you,ll enjoy it which ever you decide!!
Catweazle
It's between the Speed Triple and the Tuono, personally I'd go for the Tuono but they're both great. The Triumph is an amazing looking bike.
RED BEARD
100% speed triple, they've always been lovely looking bikes............and its the most fighter'ish out of the three.
landy george
I'd say ride all of them. Years ago I was looking for a Firestorm, got to my mates house & rode his TLS to the shop. Got on the firestorm & after 100yds was bored wih it. Ended up getting the TLS & loved it every time I got on it. One life, live it.
TriBsa
I'm more into old stuff but, that Speed Triple looks solid powerful and mean. The Tiger looks all dressed up with nowhere to go. The Aprilia looks to be holding up that fine Italian tradition of making up a bike from parts bin leftovers. Of course riding them's the thing to do first. walshie
I've got a Tuono. Best bike i ever had.
Hamster
I know nothing about bikes but 3 looks to have the best weight distribution taking the rider into acount, 1 looks like it has the highest centre of gravity, practically unstable ! walshie
To be fair you have put up a pic of the old Tuono. There's been 2 since then. 2006-2011 (The model i have) 2011 - on (The model I'd like but can't afford.)

Have to say out of the three I am drawn to another street triple, the one I had I would say was the best bike I've owned

He said the Tuono was quicker, but the Triple more comfortable. He ended up getting a Triple. Whatever you choose, it'll be the best bike for YOU. Good luck with choosing. corkycorksta
Not the Tiger if you like to crack on a bit, within the law of course. Suspension too soft for pushing hard into bends and will wallow like a boat if your a fast big heavy bloke, two up or loading it with three luggages. On the other hand superbly comfortable and smooth if you want to tour at a sensible pace. Depends what you want - ride out grins, in which case the triple or Aprilia or a more comfortable relaxed cruise ? The triumph triple engine is an absolute peach, the Aprilia also but requires a little more caution/skill in the bends due to slightly more engine braking when carrying high revs. The initial pick up from a neutral throttle to power on in mid corner is snatchy on the Aprilia if using it hard in the lower gears. Can upset your line a bit and make you wish you'd carried less speed in. The triple fuelling a little better balanced in my opinion and looks the dogs n**ts. But really I am splitting hairs here, all three are great pieces of engineering in their own right. P.S The sound of the triple engine on chat with a good can on it is just spine tingling, smile inducing loveliness.... theshootist
I'd say go with the speed triple if that's the sort of bike you're after. Personally I would take the tiger as the most practical bike. I have a 1050 sprint ST (which my mates say is a bit "old man") but its been a great bit of kit. thepasty
On looks and sound alone I'd go Speed Triple, I love that slightly agricultural sound sat next to me at the traffic lights while I was on my uninspiring CBR.
Mentalmac
I would have the Tuono for the wonderful noise they make alone let alone the other good points. The speed triple would possibly be more reliable than a Tuono perhaps?
cuffy
The v-twin thing would be my choice , they're all good though
88b
Triumphs are good bikes and they stand behind their product. everyone I know that's had an Aprillia has had problems and customer service is poor. Two friends have Tigers and love them.

Davyo
I've not rode a bike for 30yrs but I still love strolling around the showrooms and always give bikers respect on the road. What ever you choose enjoy it but most of all be safe.
