magman
A few weeks back i commented on a few sticks Old Farrier had had made for the lads on the wash, asking if his friend could do a Pheasant head , he came back with a reply ( what about a black and white spaniel ) and thought that would be great . it wasn't until he asked me for pic's of my dog (best dog on the shoot ) that i thought this will be amazing a bespoke stick Old Farrier sent me a picture though last week and said it would be delivered today with a text ten minutes later have it on me Merry Xmas :o That is a very kind offer and if you want another day on the Crown you've got it To say im gobsmacked is an understatement A few pic's for you all /URL] Only thing left to say Old Farrier your a true gent and you have made my Xmas Edited December 10, 2014 by magman

ayano3
Well rob you have joined an elite few. I am still amazed at the stick old farrier got commissioned for me of a pinkfoot goose. The photos are great but to see the actual sticks for real to see the detail put into them is a must. The lad who makes these is a true craftsman. The stick I have is special in another way to me because it was presented to me by a truly great guy who soon after shot his first ever pink in my company. Rob your a lucky lucky guy to be the owner of the stick but you know it demoted your dog to second best dog on the shoot. The best one is now on your stick. I am sure your stick will be well looked after and will remind you of how generous nigel is.
ayano3
For anyone wondering these heads on the sticks are not purchased off websites etc they are hand carved.

Old farrier
Hi As ayano3 says he hand carves them I believe these are from holly he also uses rams horn and buffalo (my favourite ) and the odd antler I think it was fenboy asked about cost it depends what you want and the medium you wish to use He's a bit like Purdys if you have to ask you can't afford one and as for time to make it it'll be ready when I'm happy with it is his usual reply And his reject bin would make you cry Bit of a perfectionist (OCD ) All the best Of
