rimfire4969
Living in Cornwall there are still some bits of this county that stun me. Same goes for loads of other parts of the UK. Abroad 3 of my favourites in no order. Florida as mentioned so much to do with some very friendly people it's a big place with so much to do not just Disney. My plan when the kids leave home is to spend every Feb and or March there. Antigua a great relaxing place, Cuba has amazing beaches and people, go before it changes for the worse. figgy
Holliday to the usuall beach places in the past, taking the caravan to France staying in the grounds of Chateaus. The food the architecture the countryside was the nicest Holliday for myself and my wife. Fantastic fresh pastries and breads. Would like to tour through India and Sri Lanka. Thought of doing San Fransisco for a few days then onto Hawaii for a fortnight a week on two different islands then a few days in New York on way back for our 25th wedding anniversary, after talking to people who know me and been to Hawaii they have said not enough to keep you occupied after the first few days. Think I'll leave the choice to my wife, I can't be wrong then she fancies doing Route 66 or what's left of it in something nice like an old caddy. Summer 2013 we done NYC - HAWAII - SAN FRAN We were on Oahu for 10 nights. More than enough to do for 2 weeks. Summer 2011 we done a east bound 6 weeker round the world. I was very disappointed with Australia, had over 2 weeks in Oz in total, no rush to go back..... Edited December 16, 2014 by markm

FalconFN
I love the Lake district and West Country but there are countless places I've not been. I've worked in many tourist hot spots over the years and frankly you can keep 90% of the Caribbean, 70% of the med and half of Greece - but the remaining parts are stunning. I really want to try Germany next.

grrclark
Figgy, San Fran is a brilliant city, very European and cosmopolitan in its feel. Totally different to New York, but that is brilliant in it's own way too. As an alternative to Hawaii why not look at going to Vancouver in Canada and spending some time in BC. It is also a fantastic city and different to both, some amazing scenery right on the doorstep and a wealth of things to do ranging from skiing on the glacier on Whistler mountain to visiting wineries in Canada's only official desert in the Thompson-Okanagan region just a few hours drive east of Vancouver. Thelongwayup
I plan to go back up to Skjervoy in Norway again but this time spend more time in Northern Sweden than we managed last time. The place is truly beautiful. Locals unbelievably friendly too. On my list of places to go though... Vancouver. Got a shooting friend there who keeps inviting me for shooting and fishing trips. Japan. Fancy going snowboarding there after a friends trip report a few years ago Southern Ireland. Never been but really fancy a short break there. JDog
Travel broadens the mind That may be directed at me I can't tell. I have been round the world several times, the longest trip was two years and I have shot and fished in a great many countries. If you couldn't see the humour in my previous post then that's a pity. timmytree
Favourite one that never was? About 10 years ago my mother got in contact with an old school friend who emigrated to New York, this lady had founded a business and was doing well, private holiday home in the Virgin islands etc. Mum and dad went over on holiday during her winter break and had a wonderful time, staff to look after them, boating, swimming the lot! The following year mum had a phonecall, would she and dad like the Virgin Island house for 3 months all expenses paid, from November til the end of January just so it wouldn't be left empty? We started planning for me and the Mrs and kids to join them for a couple of weeks over Xmas, really excited! Guess what happened? Dad decided he wanted to stay at home for Xmas with his turkey and bloody boiled sprouts! The old goat wouldn't go! They haven't been invited back since and we all lost out on a great holiday. Which is why I won't have the old *** at my house on Xmas day. I love the old ****** but I will never forgive him for that!!!
malkiserow
My number one favourite holiday destination is Cuba, many of the other islands in the region are great but Tobago comes second on my list. Colombia is very good and China is great. My native India has many wonderful places but I am not inclined to return.
