Les*1066
I wonder where they think the cruelty comes into it? It's no more cruel than abattoir slaughtering ................. but I suppose that doesn't count.
Suffolkngood
Says it all really doesn't it..........clutching at straws and scraping the bottom of the barrel if this is how they think they can gain respect and power from the nation. Yellow Bear
This has nothing to do with cruelty - all to do with lieboors "class war" - just remember because we shoot we must all be rich toffs - despite being considerably poorer than most leiboor public school career politicians
Jega
Stinks to high heaven of the usual liebour hypocrisy ,wonder if they are going to be quite so vociferous about the issues surrounding the Halal methods of slaughter .All quiet methinks. Tallshort
Popular vote grabber, Labour are obviously struggling to get any election traction given how well the economy is going. They only banned fox hunting because Steven Byers was in the brown stuff regards transport
welsh1
I emailed my sitting tory mp and the upstart labour wannabe,on their views on shooting. Labour replied, I am opposed to all blood sports. Yours Delyth Evans My tory boy replied I've just finished plucking some teal I shot yesterday which I hope answers your question! Always very happy to support shooting in any way I can,Best wishesSimon. Says it all really. Edited February 20, 2015 by welsh1

poontang
seems like labour are trying to get election funding from lacs and the like Yes, Labour have a habit of claiming that they are always outspent by the Tories at election time. This is of course an outright lie. Figures from the Electoral Commission show that the Labour party accepted £2.5m MORE than the Conservatives in the last quarter (some £10.8m). The majority coming from union donations.
felly100
Just been on the electoral commission website. Labour 2014 final quarter £7,163,988 Conservative £8,345,

Jaymo
They just dont have a clue, if Labour achieve victory in May then I believe the precarious finacial stability that we are enjoying at the moment will be lost. Inappropriate raiding of savings and Pensions Taxation and discrimination on those who pay the majority share of ALL current UK Taxes Discriminatory or biased Policies against the UK populace in general in favour of minority groups. A huge increase in the Welfare Bill which affects all of us who contribute currently. Why should my NI Contributions rise to pay for someones booze,Fags and Sky box? Do like the replies given above from the two party Candidates when asked about Bloodsports. doesn't the Labour Candidate realise us working class voters in the not too distance past (70's) all had guns to put some grub on the table as Strikes etc were crippling us. I do think many of todays Labour Party members idolise the theology of what the Labour Party represented and spout the "all together, share all wealth" but yet they all seem to be doing rather well Finacially in their chosen professions.... derfley
http://basc.org.uk/blog/press-releases/latest-news/background-note-labour-pledges-labour-protecting-animals/ Done, although somewhat surprisingly my local labour candidate doesn't have a published email address. I do know that my standing conservative MP was/is supportive of shooting sports, but I've sent him the email as well to see if his position has changed. norfolk dumpling
It would be good if BASC could run their database through a socioeconomic profiling tool to let the political parties know who they might be alienating. I suspect the working class content is higher than they might think. It would also be good to know how the membership sits with marginal seats. BASC, whilst not political, could frighten one or two marginal seat. David, has this been done to your knowledge?
Mark74
Between a rock & a hard place, none of the political parties are worth a vote, Tories are pro-shooting but thats not enough to get me to vote for those shysters. Labour.....oh dear. The political landscape needs to change to be where your local MP is able to be elected and then vote on thier beliefs not just having to tow party line... rjimmer
There's no point in voting for what you want, because you won't get it in most cases. Vote to avoid what you don't want. I think that in the South, people are probably more frightened of letting Labour in by voting UKIP than they distrust Cameron on the EU issue. I hope UKIP give every other partys a bloody nose, though. Edited February 22, 2015 by rjimmer
