Katash
http://m.herefordtimes.com/news/11813287.Man_sentenced_for_affray_after_rifle_club_dispute/?ref=mr Seems affray, ABH against police officers and making threats to kill are not considered enough reason for a FAC revoke. Supprised the national papers / antis haven't got hold of this.

rimfire4969
There is a long list of stuff to lose your licence for plus a good deal of history. Makes weeing in the street seem a bit mild.

pegasus bridge
Worrying really, if people who knew him at the gun club were prepared to call the police in ( who would have clearly understood the implications ) it says a lot , even before all the reaction when the police arrived. rimfire4969
Me thinks as treasurer of the gun club this nice man has signed off many fac applications. All within the rules but just goes to show that it is all a bit tosh.

Muddy Funker
He clearly knows someone in the know.Don't worry though, everyone can blame the police when he goes and shoots up his club.
welsh1
Would be interesting to know the full story of when the police visited, Did they trespass to get to his shed? Did he tell them to leave? And they refused or was it just like was reported, there must be something that hasn't been reported for him to keep his licence. A threat to kill would normally mean licence revoked.

wymberley
Really? Note my "?". I do not know the full story as to what happened. Do you? It is perfectly feasible that the judge recognised certain aspects of the case that caused him to act as he did. They're not all bent - well I hope they're not or we're all in trouble. However, this judgement, at first glance, sits very uncomfortably next to the judgement against the young farmer, Bill Edwards, who lost his appeal for his certificates yesterday, despite never having been charged with any offence, let alone convicted. Guest stevo
Freemason? Judge was from Durham? Haha being on the square will have NO real influence in this matter . Obviously more it .
GHE
I see that he was sentenced to 8 months, and although the sentence is suspended, it still counts and so makes him a prohibited person for the next 5 years. So, although the judge (who clearly doesn't understand the firearms legislation) decided not to revoke his certificates, I'm sure that the police will do so, in fact there is no way that they can do otherwise, as he is now a prohibited person. They just don't do it immediately. What they do is to seize the certificates, firearms and ammo, then they make the decision to revoke, then they go through the process of pretending to investigate the circumstances, then they get an ACPO rank officer to pretend that he has made the decision himself. Same result - a bit of a non story really.
Mungler
Storm, teacup, out of hand, wise judge? Really? I'd like to think that I and anyone else with a ticket would be able to hold their temper better. Threats to kill and a good glug of CS; I'm sure that's a reet proppa night art t'up North.
