Underdog
Well, I could not expect that little 22 fly that far so I carried it down to 200yds and then asked the fox to come some of the way next. It did and eventually we settled for 40yds which made that little bullets job much easier I was surprised it was a dog, I was convinced it was a vixen as I viewed from afar. When it stopped at 40yds I hesitated shooting trying to remember where to hold for the HV Lasers. As I hesitated I saw the fox sensing something is wrong and it actually went to go but itself hesitated. Without any more thought there was a muffled crack! Scratch another up for the rim fires. U. steve_b_wales
I shot a young dog fox the other night. (aided by my good mate -the poacher) It was approx 15 yards away and I was facing down an embankment. I managed to stop it and placed a 40gr Winchester sub sonic into it's chest. (side on) It gave a 'yelp' and ran for approx 30 yards before dropping dead.

I shot a big old dog fox with my .243 yesterday evening whilst out looking for muntjac - one of two I got yesterday, but no flippin deer! I hit him fair and square in the chest from about 200 yards with a 100gr soft point and he made it a good 20 yards before dropping. Goes to show that sometimes they are going to keep going no matter what you hit them with.

Actually we are always going to get animals that will run a few yards before they drop are we not? Dropping them on the spot is the norm but it doesn't happen every time. WelshMike
Absolutely, sika are the worst! Well done as usual but I think those are cows if I am not mistaken. Not sure what the minimum calibre and MV is for those but I imagine a rimfire is a little small keep up the good work.
