Paul taylor
I posted a few pics of captures from the Trent last week and mentioned my hope of this year catching a specimen Barbel and Pike well first Barbel came on Monday and to my amazement it was a good lump and made some entertaining runs making my arm ache. The kids have caught a few good fish this week too which i will post once home with better tinterweb connection but here's my Barbel anyway. One very happy angler 😊😊 Forgot to say. 13lb 14oz the weight of this beauty. Edited August 29, 2015 by Paul taylor

Paul taylor
Thanks for the comments gents. I've only ever caught 2 to maybe 3lb barbel before and yes this one was pulling my arms off and took patience and a well set clutch to tame. The kids and me have had a great week thanks JDog. Think Ozzie enjoyed it too.
wingnut
That's a proper Trent Lump, well done, lots of people who fish for these will never see one that size. Fantastic achievement, I fish the Trent a fair bit and have had them to 9lb, still waiting for my proper double from this river, last time I fished for them a couple of weeks ago on the Winthorpe section a guy 2 pegs down from me caught a Catfish from the A1 bridge section, just shows that you never know what's out there.
