spanielchris
Probally been done millions of times but going to ask again. What the pros & cons of a 20 Over a 12bore??? I brought a cheep 20 the other week & used it for the first time Friday on clay. I was really impressed, weight, kick etc. I wouldn't say I was hitting any less clays with it. Are 20's any good for game shooting/pigeons?

sitsinhedges
20's are great. I struggle to justify using a 12 now to be honest. I break more clays using 21gram shells with mine than my shooting partner does with 28grams of shot thru his 12. The 21gram loads break so well I don't feel the need for anything more. It's also great as a walkabout gun and perfect for wood pigeons generally. The extra price of cartridges is mitigated by loading my own. Dominicrobed
Got both. Love my 20 bore. And use it more than my 12 bore. Only down side is cart prices but I can live with that

robbiep
I use my 20 for nearly all of my shooting. The 12 has been relegated to now pretty much a foxing gun.

cpaulc
Love my 20g, only shotgun I own now. If you want to shoot light 21gram loads you can, and if you want to shoot 32-36g you can(but with more of a kick). Just costs as both more per box, and light gun for clays, but you get used to it. NorfolkAYA
The only load I use in my 20b for all my shooting pigeons clays and pheasents is RIO 24gm 6's
