Underdog
Never checked for good sparks, just dumped about 90grns of powder down the bore, two cards, about 1&1/2oz of #5 and a greased 1/2" fire on top. The first bird a lofted about ten yards in front of us and flew to my left fast, I swung through pulling the trigger and out the smoke I watched a tumbling bird come down. The second bird was equally good but ended up in a ditch . It is a drip dry pheasant! It was good to find some pheasants today and I could of took more but why? A woodcock presented itself and I lifted the gun but did not shoot, got enough for today. Popping out with a rifle next. U.

tonker
Well done U, a man after my own heart. Enough is enough! I stopped shooting on our little syndicate on Saturday for the very same reason, I'd had my sport so joined the Lads beating.

JDog
I like your attitude. I cringe when I read posts showing pictures of ten or a dozen pheasants shot on a walk about by a single gun.

sitsinhedges
That sounds a terrific amount of lead for a close-ish pheasant. Do they get very shot up?

Do they get very shot up?Not usually.Cylinder bore .750", 11g ish. I did push through well and think I got head and neck. It was towards 20 yds when I shot.
