Underdog
It has been ages since I took a stroll with the 410. Two squirrels and a high fast rook. Jess bolted some rabbit too. Got a nice going away woodie too. I missed the pheasant 410 is better than you think U.

sitsinhedges
I think a nice little side by side would suit you better.
Underdog
I think a nice little side by side would suit you better. But I only need one shot at a time (I wish). Had doubles in the past. Preference a single now. I would sell my last double 12g soon as someone comes along. Shot that much with single barrelled front loaders I don't fancy lugging an extra tube around any more 😓
browning123
Well done Underdog - what make/size of cartridge are you using?
ghosthunter
I have a 410 (hushpower however) and find it absolutely great to use once you get used to the "fat" barrel that is. Well done on the stroll and even better that you had some seemingly decent weather to go out in

aga man
A good productive outing there U, very underated the humble 410, i would use mine a lot more if shells were a bit cheaper.

Got mine from Avalon Guns for very reasonable money.

Underdog
Well done Underdog - what make/size of cartridge are you using? Today it was 1/2oz (14g to the pagans) from lyvale/express.#6 (unfortunately). U.

Aye, that's the only downside, the cost of ammo. About 30% higher in cost than 12g cartridges Not Seen anything below £250 keeping my eyes peeled for a good deal There is one in the for sale section thats been there for a while, maybe take offers for it too? http://forums.pigeonwatch.co.uk/forums/topic/326041-baikal-hushpower-410/

Cranfield
Nice result and a lot of fun. I think every shooter must have owned a bolt action Webley .410 at some time, I regret selling mine.
Underdog
Nice result and a lot of fun. I think every shooter must have owned a bolt action Webley .410 at some time, I regret selling mine. This is only my second bolt action. My first when I was a teen was an Enfield jungle carbine conversion. I made a crude slug mould to stuff in cases with shot removed. With the wad screwed to it was awesome to 80 odd paces. I remember find a slug and although it started at .400"+ it was longer and .390" after passing the choke☺
Longbower
A single barrel Baikal, with an add on silencer, which just takes the sharpness of the report seems good. There's a video demo somewhere on you tube. .410 is much maligned . I use mine for Grey squirrels. And is my most used shotty. Good shooting sir. sterling
Another cracking job Underdog. I know these tight choked smallbores take a confident shot to fill the pot but they sure are rewarding when you do. I hope your exploits inspire more folks to think outside the box and leave the 12 gauge in the safe from time to time.
