winnie&bezza
Can't see that being a problem. If it is then we are all doomed.
Mike737
As long as he's being treated, and it is under control, there should be no problem at all. Mike.
keg
Been on medication for years for it, not an issue and haven't needed to list it on renewal.
moondoggy
No. I'm on medication for high blood pressure, heart disease and angina. Have been since 2005. Never been a problem so long as it is controlled with medication.

Gordon R
Had my annual blood pressure check yesterday. Not a problem.
ShootingEgg
Id say do not worry yourself, my grandad has had parkinsons for years and had his renewal no issues, he ended up surrendering it (well we did it for him in the end as he has no idea what day of the week it is anymore)
old'un
High blood pressure is not part of 'Relevant medical conditions' unless it is related to alcohol or drug abuse.
rjimmer
My blood pressure has been creeping up for a few years. I've got a gizmo to put on my wrist to test it. 123 over 84 this morning. Probably need to lose a couple of stone. Never mentioned it on certificate renewals.

rjimmer
I wouldn't be the slightest bit concerned about 123/84 - 120/80 is absolutely normal. About 9 years ago, there was a van in the supermarket car park doing cholesterol checks. As I had been doing a job delivering dairy products and necking back out-of-date cream, I had mine checked. BP was 116 over 68 and CL was 3.59, the lowest CL he had seen all day. Edited May 12, 2016 by rjimmer
Vince Green
Not a problem with FAC or SGC but high or low BP has been a problem with PSV and HGV driving licences for a long time and is starting, very slowly, to creep into ordinary driving licences getting suspended now for extreme cases . Low blood pressure is as much of a problem, a shooting mate Mike has been in hospital this week with it and he has been told not to drive. Mind you, he was having dizzy spells so not a bad thing really.

Hmmm, it's an indice not an absolute reading, if the OP had a bp quite a bit lower recently and has risen fairly significantly it should be investigated. 'Normal' parameters shouldn't negate patient history.
CaptainBeaky
116/68 to 123/84 is well within normal ranges. Coupled with the low cholesterol reading, this would suggest that there isn't a problem, as I understand it. That said, I'm a chemist, not a doctor! daveboy
I read the other day that the practice nurse is getting £24 for every blood pressure check. So expect a phone call soon. My brother my wife and me have all been in the last month.

I'm neither, just saying I'd be wanting to know why there was a spike in a short time span. Pharmacist or chemist?
CaptainBeaky
Chemist The rise in the diastolic figure might be cause for concern, but I would guess that the wrist gizmo will be taking a series of readings over a number of days.
Wb123
My diastolic varies by well over 50 depending on machine and what i am up to. I would regard a change of 16 as well within acceptable variation between readings a few minutes apart for cheap electronic kit, and definitely acceptable for two readings nine years apart. My blood pressure gets checked a fair bit when i suspect equipment is playing up, a slow warm day will see as low as 70/30, when all hell is breaking loose 170/100.
