People a signing a petition for a 2nd referendum on the EU...it has already reached 1 million

question

  • is this valid
  • at what stage could this be implemented
  • what if a petition is started for "stay as it is" could one petition nulify another petition

what is going on now ?.......is it hard cheese or something serious..........

It,s just another attempt to keep us in............the moment we invoke Article 50, we are safe, but watch the dodgy MP,s in Parliament who voted Remain, they will try every delaying tactic!

Chris you are rude and trolling to get a reaction.

You have created several threads just to get a reaction.

if remain had won I guarantee someone on PW would have said the extra days to register & pencils were grounds for a second referendum 100% why is it I can offer that opinion, does everyone on the forum have to pass a test to make sure we are all absolutely the same

Oh for crying out loud; grow up man.

come on Scully be honest if the shoe was on the other foot you would have said the same

Don't forget we haven't as yet actually requested we leave the EU - that won't happen till whoever is the PM presses the button so to speak. Remember all the referendum was , was a way to ask the population what the wanted - there is no actual legal requirement for the government to activate Article 50 Even Boris is saying we should wait a while to let the dust settle. It seems the EU leaders are far keener to get things going (which they can't until we formally ask). Cameron resigning is starting to look like a planned delaying tactic.

Don't forget there have been precedents of referendums being re-run (can't remember which country it was but first referendum was for not joining, then they had another go and it changed to a join). I have q feeling this is far from over!

good grounds the system crashed to allow 2 more days of applications not in the rules and pencils in the booth clearly people rubbing out remain and putting cross in leave defo grounds for revote

Rubbish! You have to PROVE that X,s were rubbed out.....which they were not.....and the system crashing gave the Remain crowd 2 more days to recruit young voters..........the Electoral Commission gave the government (Remain) 2 days, it should have been just one hour and 15 minutes (and still they could not beat us!

In response to the remain campaigns petition to government to demand a second referendum, I have opened a petition to uphold the first referendum and require 5 email addresses to support their s for it to start. Cheers

You can have mine for starters!

If you read todays SUN, then you will note that the paper takes most of the credit for our win...........and mentions everybody and his brother on the Leave Campaign side................EXCEPT Nigel Farage, and 4 MILLION UKIP voters who forced Cameron to hold an election in the first place. It,s the Establishment once again trying to kill off UKIP, if they succeed in doing that, then they can delay the implementation of Article 50.

Well done, Nigel

Well done UKIP

I dont read the sun but not to mention Nigel???? The man must go down in history for starting all of this.

Seems to me to make sense to delay art 50. Now the momentum is with the UK and the pressure is on the EU. We could start the process of working out what we want before we start the clock ticking.

European Parliament president Martin Schulz said that Cameron’s decision to wait until October to leave was “scandalous” and tantamount to “taking the whole [European] continent hostage”.

Be honest? Ok then, I can honestly say I wouldn't have said the same thing. How do I prove this?

I can prove it simply because I voted UKIP at the last election; the Tories got in. I accepted it. I wasn't happy but it's called democracy so I got on with my life, as I have done following all the votes I've ever taken part in throughout my life , whether it has gone my way or not. What I didn't do is attempt to stir up a hate campaign bordering on hysteria against those who voted otherwise, or belittle and insult them, nor make accusations of corrupt or illegal practices regarding the vote. It's called democracy, and it was on this single issue that I voted out.

Get over it.

School dinner lady's, lollypop men/women, charity shop volunteers, hospital volunteers, care home workers, ambulance drivers, firemen.

Just a small selection of the hard working people of Great Britain whos opinions count for nothing if a second referendum is called.

People who the likes of lily Allen, jk Rowling, Chris Martin, Damon albern and Gary Lineker believe have less right to an opinion than them.

Damon albern wore a black arm band at Glastonbury last night to mourn the death of democracy, well I'm sorry when a majority votes for something that's democracy. The death of democracy is when a small group of rich self centred idiots get their way over the working class majority.

Why these people?

That'what I intend to put sometime into when I get to retire like so many that actually do these things to life is a bit more interesting than watching Jeremy Kyle, drinking or standing on the kerb shouting at people who might have to park outside the house..

Firefighting might be a stretch I certainly wouldn't not do it because my voice eas less important. I think it would be considered more. Might get an MBE if I work hard enough.

I don't have a life or wealth of a pop star,Fpotballer, JK Rowling or Phillip Green.either.. But don't Blame them for it.

The more time that lapses the more issues there will be with the illegal immigrants at Calais, the middle east will continue to invade mainland Europe, some bossy politician in Brussels will spout more rubbish and more of those that voted stay will change to leave. Can you imagine what **** will come our way in the next two years get on with article 50

What you going on about, so you agree that old people have no right to vote.

Because when the numbty on the radio said people over 40 shouldn't be allowed to vote they were just some examples of the type of person he felt weren't worthy of having an opinion.

Ah.. must admit I hadn't read or heared the interview. Maybe aimed at a different demographic to sell tickets

The younger generation expect see our generation llke we did previously who were ways on strike. And thinking .what the hell? Culminating in that sort of response.

Ps it was the mentioning of JK Rowling.lineker etc that threw me.. If they are under 40 it must have been hell of a paper round they had.

The Article 50

Has anyone heard any more about it??

I seen a report on the Fri nite which reckoned everything is written out for leaving in the article 50 and u have 2yrs AFTER u notify the EU, straight forward enough

But there is seemingly nothing in the paperwork that tells u how u notify the EU, some of the EU folk were trying to claim that the referendum result is an adequate notification, so time starts now. Obviously there tryng to get it over and done with as quick as possible, which is a good thing

But i've never heard any more about it since

The way it has been explained on the radio is that a referendum has no legal binding. They have only asked the population what they should do on a particular issue.

Triggering Artical 50 is the legal trigger of leaving the EU.

The Government can still decide as they are the Elected leaders of the country and can play it how they deem to get the best outcome as it is their duty to do so.

Don't worry though.. It will be triggered it is not in any Goverments interest not to carry it out. They would never get voted in again if they didn't

Cheers paul.

Just heard on C4 news there that the notification has to come from the home government.

I think in the confusiion on Fri some EU councilors/workers were trying it on a bit and tryig to push it on quickier by claiming there was no defination of the legal trigger
