pinfireman
Agreed. Maybe thats why hes resigning as leader of UKIP. He is going to see out his term as an MEP and is perfectly placed to help whatever administration organises Brexit. I love the way the guardianistas start shouting 'coward' ect ,UKIP is technically a party without issue now ,so what is the problem ? Don,t knock the Guardian! It is a very useful paper! Tear it into square sections, punch a hole in the top corner, thread some string through the hole, and hang it on the karzi door! Perfect! If Nigel Farage had stayed, the muppets would be crawling out of the woodwork to say it was pointless, as he had achieved what he set out to do. He resigns and the same muppets crawl back out and start slagging him off again. The man can't win with some. He deserves better treatment. True! Well he may have been devisive, but he made sure we had "the conversation" which the left wing fascist elite, tried to shut down. The continued wailing, stamping of feet and general teddy throwing from the remain camp puts the lie to their claim of superior intellect and education. They can't even recognise reality when it bites them in the **** Nice one!
four-wheel-drive
Makes little odds really, the damage is done. The thing that makes me laugh is when we was given the chance to vote for MEPs all of you people who clam to love the the common market so much could not be bothered to get off you fat ***** and vote it was only for the most part UKIP people that voted and what is the point in being in a club and saying we want an opt out on this and that and the other the way that I see it if you are not going to be a full member what is the point. pinfireman
To me, the timing suggests he's been pushed, not jumped. He could milk the press coverage as both main parties are rudderless and in open blood-letting mode, so chucking it in now goes against his grandstanding impulses. Unless being an MEP is a full time job..? One wonders what he's hiding and whose got the photos... Why should he have to have anything to hide? He,s carried the fight to the EU lovers for over 20 years, often single-handedly ! He had his moment of triumph when he rubbed the EU parliaments noses in "it" last week! He was badly injured back in 2010 in a plane crash whilst campaigning in the General Election (wasn,t that fortunate for the Establishment?) yet he came back and took UKIP forward.....now others will take the glory, yet did little work.....Thank you Nigel, for restoring democracy to these islands! pinfireman
Thank you Nigel for all your hard work. If it had not been for you then we would never have been given the chance of a referendum. Given the legal challenge by "unknown individuals" and Boris getting shafted then I've no doubt there's dirty goings on as expected. One of these individuals is the boss of Zoopla! All big business, and so called "academics" all with their noses in the EU trough! You can get ALL the facts, and some very educated guesses, on a forum Guido Fawkes.....on there they name the people that the courts usually protect! Well worth a read! Nigel farage has done this country proud just look at the news EU billions overspending so all members now have to pay extra I for one would tell them where to shove it where the sun doesn't shine but Cameron will pay up as usual love to know where he keeps getting the billions from after all the cuts that we have had to endure Well, he,s not getting the money from the pockets of big business......as usual, it comes from the little people, the ones Nigel stood up for.... I think he will be back before the next general election as if May gets in as PM we will never truly leave the EU , a very "soft" exit at best with no more substance than Camerons supposed new deal. As someone who has voted out twice , 1975 and last month , i still do not believe it will happen..so Nige will have to rise again like an avenging angel. I hope so! I'm not a Ukipper, but this is a disgraceful smear that shows a lack of character and judgment. It is also obviously nonsense, if anyone had any evidence that could drive Nigel Farage out of politics, the media and remain campaigners would have given almost anything for it. They have tried....several times....and always FAILED!
pinfireman
Now he has screwed up the country like several of the leavers he in backing out leaving others to clear up the mess. Pity the little German does not go back to his home country.. What a nasty little man you are! My dad was Irish, my mum Welsh/English, and I was born in God,s county (Yorkshire)...Does that make me Irish? Welsh? The Queen has German ancestors, but her mum was a Scot....you really are a nasty little racist! Is that Cameron you're talking about? Silly man
pinfireman
He's probably realised that people may expect him to actually do something as opposed to just talking a good talk. Now the public has spoken. The real work begins. Cameron wasn't pushing for a leave vote. No, he wanted us enslaved forever under the EU thumb! How any so-called intelligent person on here can have voted to remain in a bureaucratic, unelected dictatorship , little better than the junta that lead the Argies to disaster, baffles me....Can we take it you do NOT believe in democracy? If so, there are plenty of dictatorships around the world where you can go and live.....try North Korea....you will like it there!

Dave-G
Could it be that resigning from UKIP makes it possible for him to become involved with a Tory leadership candidate. Loads of people will trust him to continue doing us proud whilst not leading the country which few would vote for?

saddler
Why a KnightHood? Given the stance of HM the Queen toward the EU, I'd not be surprised if someone ended up being given a Peerage of some sort. That'd be a fitting tribute in her record breaking year on the throne! I'd also hope that Sturgeon was not forgotten when HM has her pen in hand - Traitors Gate still open for business is it?

djrwood
Got to be honest I was a massive Big Nige fan literally until the last couple of days where by now I think he is a rotten person. Before people jump to his defence and destroy me let me explain. I voted out and am over the moon with the result, although a little worried about the current disarray in our government. I am certain in 5+ years time it will be confirmed it was the best result possible, convincing some of the most avid remainers! However, what the hell is Nigel playing at having a final dig in the EU saying that they've never had proper jobs. Does this guy think that's going to help our negotiations by behaving like this? More like he's having a final goodbye pop and rub your face in it before he jumps off the boat the smug **** That's damn ignorant, selfish and not in the countries interest! At the time i didnt initially see the issue of him standing in front of the poster with the streets full of refugees, however it showed that he truly is a truly odious man. Even the likes of Gove and Carswell refused to stand in front of it! What have Syrian refugees got to do with the free movement of people within the EU? Looks like DC was doing a fairly decent job controlling the numbers of Syrian refugees coming in despite being in the EU! My streets are filled with EU migrants not Syrians! Standing in front of that poster gave the remain voters ammunition to paint anyone who voted leave as a racist, which for the overall majority would be wrong. If I saw Nigel in the local pub celebrating his life long achievement, I would shake his hand and say thanks for being the driving force to trigger the referendum and getting us the opportunity to voice our opinion, you've done a lot for my sons future. Now away from me you racist selfish man.

djrwood
i think he,s patriotic not racist,i have realy nice black neighbours but i still want immigration controlled whats wrong with that. I agree completely with your view about controlled immigration which is why I voted out. Just think farage falls the wrong side of the line and is more racist than patriotic. I remember watching a documentary a few months ago about ukip, I think on channel 4. Focused a lot on known racists being allowed to maintain roles within the party. At the time I thought it was journalist scare mongering trying to derail the ukip train as it gained massive momentum. Now I'm wondering whether there was a lot more truth in it than I thought

Now I'm wondering whether there was a lot more truth in it than I thought I was sceptical about farrage at the start of this, I then did a bit of research and I've got to say he's now the only politician I trust, he's far from perfect but then no one is, what I like about him and I think separates him from most other politicians is he says what he honestly believes with no lies or half truths, this often gets him in trouble but at least hes honest, I am also convinced he is no racist, if I thought he was I would not support him. four-wheel-drive
I agree with you he has a nasty streak in him but having said that lots of people that we think of as doing good things like Winston Churchill and many other people have both said and done things that most of us would deplore in the end you have to take the good with the bad hopefully by him standing aside at this time it will help calm the waters.
