old'un Posted October 24, 2016 Report Share Posted October 24, 2016 Sky news this morning..."The Jungle" It now appears that only 2% of the occupants of the "Jungle" are genuine Syria refuges the rest are economic refuges mainly from Africa, they have so far had 1500 applications for child status (under 18) from this camp of 7000. These are not children but young men, when I was 18 I had been at work for 3 years and did not class myself as a child, think we are being taken for fools, lets look after our own first. I think you'll find that your completely out of touch and that the majority of the UK population have had enough, I'm all for helping anyone escape persecution and war but the majority of these people are not fleeing war, I don't actually blame them as who can blame someone trying to improve their lot, I blame firstly our government and secondly out of touch lunatics who are arrogant enough to think they can change the world but expect me and everyone else to pay for it both financially and socially. Not my burden and I resent my taxes being spent on foreign aid and supporting illegal immigrants. Our social care bill though, is huge,and getting bigger,so again ,are you happy to have your taxes raised,pension cut or moved forward to compensate? Second point,the government didnt 'sanction' Brexit. It called a referendum because it had to,thinking that ,if it could choose the right time ,a Brexit could be avoided.
