walshie
Not a problem. They aren't made specifically for subs.

rem708
If it has a proof mark, as many mods do these days, then it would have been tested to be safe with all commercial ammuntion.

armourer103
no harm at all, but you will still get a supersonic crack, so you may as well remove your mod keep it clean thats what i do
Dekers
Yes!
Walker570
You will get the crack BUT whatever you are shooting at will not know where it came from. If there are two foxes, shot the furthest first and almost always the second will run or walk towards you and then stop to look back. My personal record is 5 doing just that, 4 half grown cubs and the vixen. They only hear that 'crack' alongside them and don't hear the noise from the gun. I would leave it on for that reason. Have fun
iano
Mod won't stop the sound of the round breaking mach 1. Also, don't forget that while the round will be leaving the barrel at supersonic speed, it drops sub sonic fairly quickly (not a lot of powder ) and that transition can really mess up the ballistics. I could never get HV rounds to work at anything over 50m, which kind of defeats the purpose of them...
bornfree
Never had any luck with CCI stingers.
Kalahari
Always seems funny to me that people swear blind about the advantages of a moderator on a centrefire rifle, usually very supersonic, and then say don't bother on an HV 22. David. Its not the mod, its the round and the distance to the target. HV .22 is a pointless round. Centrefire round has the powder and kick to do the job, so the mod makes sense. Also - mods make most guns look kick ***...

Walker570
To use an African term.... keeny meeny ... that is what I use my sub 22RF for. Quiet silent jobs where I want no disturbance. Any other vermin feels the wrath of my 17 Rem with mod. A distinct advantage of a mod is ear protection is not required. With the advent of small centre fires I could never see the point in HV or Magnum 22RFs.
iano
Funnily enough, when I lived in Africa nobody ever used sub sonic 22s. David. What were they shooting at? I've never met anyone who uses HV .22 rounds at any real distance (over 50m). They eitehr use subs or something like .17HMR

They eitehr use subs or something like .17HMR Most everyone in the US will be using HV in a 22LR. I never saw a sub in the US until after I came here and learned what they were. You really have to look for them there. rick
Walker570
You were in the Magnum only country. If it ain't big or bigger, fast or faster, it will not work Most everyone in the US will be using HV in a 22LR. I never saw a sub in the US until after I came here and learned what they were.
