clakk
When will these eejits accept the people of Britain want out by a majority vote. All this feeble grandstanding and legal twisting is reinforcing my belief that there is no democracy ,all the moneyed elite want their gravy train and dont care what we the working people want The country is full ,the EU is beyond corrupt and its Germany,s last attempt to run Europe their way ,war failed them so dodgy deals got them control but we dont want controlling by unelected eurocrats .How many tarrifs have they imposed on imports and how many trade deals have they trashed and dragged out for years by their corrupt ways ?? old man
Personally I just don't get all of this screaming and threats from the EU, all we want to do is leave the club so we can govern our own future? What impact will it really have on the stayers, virtually nil? Ah, they are probably most miffed that we will cease to become the dustbin of Europe and the detritus will have to stay with them and it might give others the idea to leave too? Simplistically, surely if we and they have stuff to sell, just do it? Wheres the fight in that? They and we should just appreciate and enjoy our cultural differences and get on with life? There is a great need to sort out some policies to stop ourselves being taken for economic idiots by others too? The rat in my outhouse seems to possess more nous. Short memories they have? When the chips were down, who picked them up?
Vince Green
What impact will it really have on the stayers, virtually nil? It will have a massive impact on the stayers because our money has been used to prop up a lot of countries that should never have been allowed to join in the first place. That's the reason they are so miffed.. We hand over £350,000,000 EVERY WEEK for them to squander. Now they realise they have pushed their luck too far goose - egg - golden - laid - the- killed - that (rearrange to make a well known phrase or saying) Like my Avatar says, its not my problem Edited February 4, 2017 by Vince Green

That's the reason they are so miffed.. Exactament Rodney! All those countries are a market for German, French and Italian goods so the contributions those countries make are pseudo subsidies to their industries. The UK on the other hand receives little back in enhanced trade but receives negative impacts such as enhanced immigration. The EU have a ten billion Euro black hole to fill which makes their pseudo subsidies more expensive.
walshie
The UK is one of the few nett contributors to the EU. Without us either the spongers will get less handouts or the other nett contributors will have to pay a lot more. Neither of those options sound as attractive to the EU as having the UK pile in money hand over fist to help out countries who don't deserve it. 12gauge82
It amazes me that anyone without a vested interest that is enhanced by being in the EU would vote to stay in, I just can't get my head around it.

Neither of those options sound as attractive to the EU as having the UK pile in money hand over fist to help out countries who don't deserve it. And the other major point to remember is that if and when we exit, the remaining un-elected controllers are desperate to stop the UK getting a good deal because if we get away with the hoped for good deal, a lot of the other ordinary voters in many countries may well vote to leave too and that would bring the whole house of cards down! As an economic project it was viable and interesting, as soon as it became a self perpetuating non elected political movement, it was doomed and just needed the ordinary people to notice and to be given the oportunity to express their feelings. Offering the UKIP caused in/out refferendum was David Camerons worst decision ever. He really didn't see the result coming!

Made aware today of 1 health tourist, she has only cost us a reputed 1/2 million so far? And the politicos still ignore it? could only be here? Was this the Nigerian woman who came over to the UK to have her multi birth IVF babies? Because she couldn't afford medical care to have them in Nigeria, sadly the father couldn't be with her....because they couldn't afford his airfare? Come on guys it's only £500,000, surely we can afford to pay her partners airfare and temporary full board expenses in a posh London Hotel whilst they are here having free healthcare on the NHS?...............that is if they ever decide to leave the UK and go back to Nigeria?
