Evening all,

Thought I would start a new tread as a number of people have asked for pics etc. etc.,
Well this afternoon I picked up my new DT11 Trap, fixed choke with 30” barrels,
It has taken me around four months to finally decide on what to buy, I’ve tried a good few different guns but found I kept on coming back to the Beretta (yes in case you’re wondering I am a total Beretta tart of nearly 30 yrs. and very proud of it)
Any way I love my trap shooting, however I want to have a play at fitasc and some sport trap, so in this configuration it will tick all the boxes on the trap shooting side, I also have a set of 30” trap barrels’ same size 30” fixed choke ¾ and full but I’m having them bored out to 3/8th and 5/8th, so that should cover my sporting side. As a side, note the trap barrels have a better bore size than the sporter
, Trap 18.4 and sporter 18.6

Anyhow here’s some pics of new gun,
The DT11 comes as standard with a grade 3 stock but seeing as I was having it fitted I thought I might as well have upgrade to grade 5, also the forend is an upgrade as they come as standard with a rounded type which I was not too keen on.

pics are not the best as there taken on my mobile phone .

Nice one Stevo .... you can't beat that new gun feeling ..... especially with a nice bit of timber like that.

No doubt you'll be putting through it through its paces at the weekend.

Hope you get on well with it.

cheers steve , and yes its going to get the hammering of a lifetime !

Very nice too. Good to see it comes complete with spare parts.

Yeah comes with new set of firing pins. Set of V springs. Barrel weights and stock weights. About 6 different types of beads for different light conditions. Various tools. But to be fare for what the guns cost it's the least they can do 😜

I would like to think so Steve. Let's see how I get on with some straight birds first 😂

I only have trap barrels at min 3/4 and full but who cares. I think it will be a good day with a lots of friends showing up and a lot of Banter going on

Ouch ... that would hurt Krieghoff owners !

Hope to see you at Orston Stevo ... !!

I adore the engineering quality on Krieghoffs as well , Perazzi are good too but if you lay the three side by side and take cost into account the DT10/11 wins by a country mile, money no object I'd still back it by a tenner.

Not to deviate on the subject but my current tip for the bestest value for money competition gun is the CG Invictus Super Sport fixed choke which is almost half the cost of even a DT11 which is itself well below either K or P.

Well I had a trip out today and shot a few targets. Grabbed some RC2 in 24 gram 7 shot a line of DTL to start off with done a 25 straight. Gun handled as expected. The trigger is to die for !! And targets were 100% munched. Went for a cuppa a grabbed a box of fiochci TT1 in 21 gram 7.5 for no other reason than just to say I tried them. Same results as other shells. Then done a few sporting targets again very happy with kills. Then called it a day. Will have a propper go over weekend. All in all very impressed with the handling. Even though it's a 30" it felt very controlled however it's very very easy to get the gun moving when needed. Last night I did put 50 gram on barrels just to smooth it out a tad. Total weight of gun now is 8.6lbs however it feels like a 8lb gun.

Looking forward to a bit of UT /ABT 😁

Lovely looking gun that Stevo, and you certainly warrant the expense of owning such a gun with your shooting!

I'm a beretta fan too, even though lots of people give the newer guns bad press I've not had a bad one and their handling characteristics just suit me I guess.

Thank you for the compliment Dave. To be totally honest I have been just a rough a55 pigeon shooter for the past 30 yrs and have loved nearly every min of it. However back in 2000 I went to a clay shoot and there was a chap there with a brand new dt10 which he very kindly let me have a go of. Then moment I passed it back to him I made myself a promise that one day I would get one but at the time I just could not justify spending that much money on something that would spend most of its life in the feild. So it sort of got put on the back burner. Then in 2012 I went along to another clay shoot and again there was a chap with a dt11. He kindly let me have a go and my head was blown again but I was still pigeon shooting and still couldn't justify even more money to use in the feild. Then 18 months ago I started to get right into my clay shooting and competing on a pretty regular basis and finally started to feel like I could justify spending the money on one. And so I treated myself.

I never bought the dt11 thinking it would make me a top shot. I bought it for no other reason than a 17 year love affair.
