washerboy
Wife was booked into the doctors for steroid injections in her arm , appointment was for 8.30 ... turns out they only do these injections on a Thursday and the next day for these is 3rd Thursday in January. To make matters worse the doctor wasn’t due in to his surgery until 10 , why have 7 or 8 people booked in from 8.30 Edited December 19, 2017 by washerboy
Me matt
Ask to speak to the practice manager, sounds like he/she needs to be a bit better at management.
eddoakley
I sat in a waiting room last week with my grandmother for over an hour after the appointment time. We were in the appointment for 90 seconds for something which could easily have been said on the phone. If I booked a job and turned up a week late I would be thrown off. How do they get away with it?!?! Edd
walshie
I tried booking an appointment at the doctors and was given a date nearly 2 weeks away. I asked what the point of that was as I'd probably be better by then and the receptionist said "Well if you are, don't forget to phone and cancel the appointment." webb1982
My old man went for a check up after suffering a heart attack. He was the last appointment sat there until 6.30pm. Went and asked at the desk and the GP had forgot he was there and gone home!

I try to stay away from doctors they seem to have bad karma

Rewulf
A friend of mine cut her hand quite badly on some glass one saturday night, I took her to the walk in centre, who turned her away as they were about to close at 9pm. She was bleeding all over the place, so next stop A and E. Went through triage and was wrapped up, told to wait for a surgeon to have a look. At 1 am , a medic takes a look and says it requires plastic surgery, and youll need to go to a different hospital tomorrow to be sorted. So booked in for 8.30 am on the sunday morning, up at 7 and her daughter drops her off. Reception then tells her no one starts there till 12 anyway, she decides to sit down and wait, there is no one else there. At 2pm a surgeon has a look, and tells her, as soon as a theatre is available, she will be sorted. At 5 pm, receptionist asks her who she is waiting for, she replies Dr X , Oh hes gone home, he must have forgotten about you ! She got home at 9pm, after some absolutely cracking surgery, so I suppose every cloud...

When I turned 50 I had to go with a minor ailment, because of my age and above family history I was given a full mot. Now on all sorts of stuff to avoid a third generation croaking it in or near a gp surgery ? as I say...bad karma

Lloyd90
My family tend to go private for lots of things now, you get treated like a human being. They see you quickly, get the right diagnosis and can’t wait to have you back in. Funny that when your paying them for the service eh. stumfelter
Why go to the hospital? Steroid injections in the arms are available at most seedy muscle gyms.
washerboy
Steroids for bodybuilding aren’t injections in the arms ??

Bigbob
If you want a appointment for our doctors you have to phone at 8.30 in the morning as there booked out for two months i was off my work and i was called into a meeting with my line manager and hr turns out they wanted to pay me off i said i will be able to return to my job they said you better speak to our doctor then . went to see him and he says nice to see you walking in without your crutch . i said physio took the crutch off me in april as i was throwing my hip out , He replied no i have it in my notes that you walked in with a stick we shall just have to disagree . So i was getting paid off due to a doctor that gets £500 a time to see you for 20 minutes and he cant see that you walked in without a crutch
oisin og
I attended at my long-awaited audiology appointment a couple of weeks ago only to find that I had inadvertently come on the Thursday and not on the previous Tuesday as directed! The staff were very understanding and squeezed me in between two other patients. Job done. Thank you NHS.
Hendrix's rifle
Had an MRI scan on my knee a few weeks ago and keep trying to phone for an appointment but no one answers the bloody phone. Left 3 messages and an email but nothing. Now 2 months after the crash the pain is getting worse than it's ever been and still don't have an appointment and can't work! January will arrive, eventually get an appointment then off for surgery when they pull there finger out on another note, Mrs went in a few weeks ago after ringing as soon as they open and got told to come in and we sat there for 2 and a half hours to be given a piece of paper saying they can't prescribe anti biotics for it unless it gets worse
