Crow Decoying

Some footage of this mornings shoot. Pouring with rain for most of it but nice to be out again. I get a lot of comments on YouTube as to why I shoot crows and have given a couple of reasons in the vid. I got comments on another vid at how rubbish my hide building skills are, and I should have tree branches around it and gorse etc. I shoot up on a moorland and there are no trees or gorse. Its almost barren.  Constructive criticism  is always welcome though! Thanks

A good video and good shooting too. I also make my own decoys, made from Correx. They suppliment the many full bodied and shell decoys I have. I also use dead birds as decoys, by inserting a 12" bamboo cane from the rear, into the head. I place them in an upright position with the rest of the cane fixed into the ground. I've found that a flapper works well, as does a few floaters. I tried a rota bit this only worked with Jackdaws.

I enjoyed that. Always good to see a few crows getting a taste of their own medicine - especially as nesting season approaches. Thanks for posting.

I tried a pump the other day for the first time ever. Chris Green is at expert level compared to me. I now appreciate the "pumpists art" so well done on that front too!!
