Snopes MediaMass published its fake magazine cover featuring Thunberg in an article titled “Greta Thunberg Highest-Paid Activist in the World.” While the article initially reads like a genuine magazine piece, an update after the first paragraph explained that the rumor was false. Those who clicked on the explanation were directed to a disclaimer about MediaMass’ content: The website mediamass.net is the medium of our satire to expose with humour, exaggeration and ridicule the contemporary mass production and mass consumption that we observe. Also it will not only mock the producers (mainstream media, journalists) as it is common when questioning and criticizing mass media, but also the consumers as one cannot exist without the other. Sensationalism, lack of verification of information, ethics and standards issues are only symptoms of the actual social and economic order. This is particularly obvious when observing the role of social networking sites in spreading rumours. In short, Thunberg was not named the “highest paid activist” on the cover of People with Money magazine. This is a fake magazine cover created by a satire website. Oh dear henry ! Not touted as truth at all , its a parody blog, and thats in YOUR link!

Vince Green
Its not quite as untrue though as it might appear. She is a social medium phenomenon with a huge number of hits and her earnings from that will be equally huge. Cleverly marketed and managed. Cheshirelad
There's no doubt about it, the climate is definitely changing .... but it has been changing, off and on, for the past 4.5bn years. There have been hot periods followed by ice ages followed by hot periods etc etc ad infinitum. To think that mere humans can do anything to alter the status quo is akin to thinking that we can strap on a pair of wax wings and fly to the sun. mick miller
It's a slightly redundant argument that one though isn't it? To say 'why bother, China' every time the subject of reducing co2 output is raised. Yes, we produce (now) a lot less co2 but if we took Canada, Europe, Australia together those figures start to look more substantial, add a reduction from the USA into the mix and you're talking real numbers that will have a significant impact. Then, I'm afraid, it falls to a political will, once we can point to the examples set elsewhere, to apply pressure economically on other nations to similarly make the necessary changes. By the way, did anyone read about the prototype power station (nuclear) that the Gates foundation was partly funding which would use already spent, waste fuel and create energy with virtually zero radioactive waste at the end of the process? Shelved by the Trump administration due its trade policy with 'CHYNAH'? Nope, there you go, potentially limitless power with no need for coal, oil, or radioactive waste, binned for political point scoring. Yay humanity! Rewulf
In my optimistic heart, Id like to think that when faced with a genuine apocalyptic or major global disaster event, like a major pandemic, or incoming asteroid strike, maybe even a major conflict on a world war scale, that we , as a people, as a 'race' would get together, drop all the ancient animosities, and do the best we could to mitigate the circumstances. Weve all seen the disaster films like Armageddon , 2012 ect. Heres the problem, we are being told by the proponents of doom that THIS is just such an event, ITS really important, WE all have to turn vegan and live in the dark ? Buy £35,000 worth of electric car, and pay carbon taxes if you dont live like a medieval serf. But ITS that important, that most governments are doing very little about it, and the front 'men' are a snarly 17 year old girl, and the founder of XR is a shouty socialist ex farmer calling for the heads of government to be placed in Nuremberg style 'world' trials, and if necessary , execute them , using the favoured method of commies, with a bullet to the head. Ill listen to the global warming argument, although I dont agree with the so called FACT that man is solely responsible for it, but if you want to get the message across, please stop using clowns to present it. If its THAT important, stop using spaced out hippies and stoned students to promote the agenda whilst stopping ordinary people from going about their business. Then they might listen. It was stopped due to policies implemented to save China mis-using American nuclear technology. I wouldn't call that political point scoring! It's a very real threat from a Communist country. So they shelved it almost immediately. Didn't look at ANY other country, or even America... seems like virtue-signalling BS to me

Don’t know how you wrote a post that i simultaneously strongly agree and disagree with, but you’ve managed it! The problem with the climate change “movement” is the public faces of it. Normal people switch off if they’re told they’re planet raping monsters. Particularly if its by professional activists who troll around seemingly doing nothing apart from telling other people they are doing nothing. There was a chap on here recently describing his low carbon lifestyle (wood heating/cooking, no flying etc) but he didn’t feel the need to glue himself to anything; he just got on with it. Let’s have a bit more of that.

Like I said , clowns ! Youve got the head of the beast, a 17 year old mentally disabled girl who hasnt got a clue what shes talking about , but puts a mean angry face on as shes reading from the script theyve given her. Plenty of 'celebrity' bandwaggoners putting their two pennorth in whilst promoting their own SJW credentials. Politicians jumping on board, to virtue signal themselves a few more votes. Every natural event, be it a windy day, or a bush fire gets the 'climate change' treatment, its deeply ingrained into mainstream media these days. Listen to virtually ANY news report on TV radio or print, at some point, climate change will be mentioned. Its an EMERGENCY! , some bloke on the radio has just said, as he copped a fine for some extinction event in London. People are tired of hearing about it, and my belief is support for the concept of global warming , rising oceans and associated doom , is waning , about time too. 37 minutes ago, oowee said: Why do you think that is? Hint, you have to look really hard.😏 A good read is the recent court case regarding the 'hockey stick' climate graph https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hockey_stick_controversy Recent case of man from Pacific Island of South Tarawa, who was refused refugee status in NZ, he claimed his home was soon to be destroyed by rising sea levels, and farming was impossible. The only problem was , everyone else on his island didnt have a problem, and ariel records show the land mass of the islands has been steadily INCREASING since 1946. This didnt stop the media from having a free lunch https://news.sky.com/story/kiribati-man-refused-climate-change-asylum-plea-10426704 The actual problem with the island is overpopulation, from tourism , and the simple fact its a lovely place to live, bit like the Maldives, another place that apparently wont be here next year as the sea swallows it up 🙂 But dont let that ruin a good sensationalistic story.
