Dave at kelton
I promised to post my latest gun porn when I could. Well picked it up this week after a long wait due to COVID, work etc. Dickson Round Action 1903 re-barrelled 1984 by McKay Brown so excellent barrel condition and wall thickness 2 1/2” chambers, chokes 1/8 and 3/8 stock has been cast left for me and leather covered pad as you can see. Just need to get out on the clays at Westlands I am confident that whatever we face this will be suitable for standard steel, just hope I can shoot straight with it. enfieldspares
I've seen these when in Edinburgh in the 1980s but never picked one up...I was more interested in handling the Martin "Ribless" BLE in the shop! But I am told thet are fast handling "lively" guns. I'd be very interested in the OP's report and remarks on how he gets on with it.

Nothing beats the understated elegance of Dickson R/A straight shooting and enjoy. Blackpowder
JohnfromUK
Dicksons are a highly respected maker - and deservedly so. A friend of mine (now sadly no longer around) had a pair and shot well with them. His both had the original Damascus barrels and a set of steel barrels made for them. Blackpowder Thanks and yes I will. Agree how elegant they are. Wanted one for a very long time but with steel in the offing wanted the right gun. Much as I love Damascus, and have several such guns, most of those Dicksons tend to have thinner walls than I like.

Absolutely gorgeous and good luck with it, I speak to Mr McKay Brown regularly whilst out with my dogs, an absolute gentleman, who always enjoys a good chat about his life in the gun trade. May I ask who done your leather covered pad ...?
Gunman
Lovely to look at . Delightful to hold But a ****** to mend when they get old . They are so different for all other British made guns that there are no " common" parts . With most British [ I'm diplomatic here ] guns you can in an emergency ,adapt or alter something to suit , but not with these .

I am fortunate it comes from a gunsmith with impeccable record with Dicksons and a good guarantee.

If you contact him he may be able to help.
