Here is a question that comes to mind

What if you take one or two Ukrainians into your home then discover you can't get along with them or find them to be a bad lot how do you go about getting them removed?

I don't think the local Authorities, Police or anyone else will want to help you

Or they invite there relations in for a party ?.

I’ve worked hard all my life to put a roof over my head and now being asked to volunteer to take strangers in and share it while I go out and do a minimum of ten hour shifts a day!  £350 a month that won’t cover any basic bills .If the government can afford to offer £350 of taxpayers money why didn’t they offer to give us that money before the invasion to help us out with rising cost.

if anyone is taking them in I am not going to mock or criticise them it’s personal choice .

for me I am a believer that no good deed goes unpunished

With you. I renewed my tickets ( or at least completed and delivered the forms ) last October, and like I said, I’ve never been asked.
Different authorities seem to have different requirements; I’ve never been asked to fill out a form for my GP either. 🤷‍♂️
Electoral register is compulsory, so all the relevant info’ they want could possibly be obtained there.

Electoral role is only as recent/good, as those who fill it in each year ( or however drew yes to it is?)

I’m in the process of renewing now and the forms have changed over here.
Even had to go to my Surgery and pay them to produce and forward the required documents/certification, to the Licensing team.

Ticket renewal is every five, so the electoral register may be a better bet if they want up to date info’!

It’s just an aris covering exercise in practise anyhow, and has no real effect on decreasing any perceived danger. A letter from a GP who may or may not know you…..hence their only requirement to enclose any relevant notes in your medical history, which we have already given the police access to, and now potential questions regarding people who may come into your life and leave it within a five year time span. There is no obligation to inform the police if you marry or divorce within that five years. 🙂

It is a problem the other way too. We risk putting vulnerable women and children into homes of weirdos, paedos, or people that just want an unpaid servant to abuse or control.

Not everybody offering places will have motives that are as pure as driven snow

It's already happened in Poland, a man has been arrested for raping a Ukrainian refugee he offered to take in.

Hello, it was mentioned on BBC question time where the Ukrainian MP was a guest that they are worried on people and children  traffickers , and the above post is so disheartening to hear , with all that's going on with Ukrainian refugees fleeing to Poland , a bullet in the head for that man 👍

Hello, getting back to the original post, so far 3000 Ukrainians have been given UK visas , and I think these have family in UK , many have found the forms difficult due to the restrictions imposed but I hope this can be rectified , 1000s of those in UK that have expressed a desire to give accommodation do not have that family connection or even know who to take in, Charities are helping, still no contact from my friend, I only know her name and not surname so it's very difficult to try and find , her city is almost gone, her own home just out side is a smoking pile, this was her last message, I just hope she has good fortune to be safe until this tragic war against her people ends,

A couple of blokes from the village have rented a 10 seater minibus and are setting off to the Polish border with Ukraine on Monday.
OH and I have donated funds as have many others, and I’d dearly love to go with them, but put aside the fact I can’t, that would make it one seat less. Good for them. 👍
