Just how much longer will the BBC and ITV keep trotting out the pointless coverage?

I can't see how he will, he's almost just letting William get ready for the position,  enjoy his young family with less pressure for longer before becoming the next king.

I really do hope so . It would be such a shame if he got things wrong .

The Queen gave her whole life in service to this country. So I think she deserves all the coverage she gets.

There is such a concept as quality over quantity.

Perhaps those who can't do without their episodes of Eastenders and Strictly should seek help for thier sad loss

Using that logic, perhaps those who can’t do without 24h rolling news coverage of the death of 96 year old monarch whom they likely never met, should seek help too?

Anyway, I haven’t watched a minute of either Eastenders or coverage of the queen.

I just find it fascinating how repeatedly wrong they get it, it’s almost like some are deliberately steering the ship towards the iceberg.

Lin and myself said the same thing this morning.

The public absolutely love Prince William and his wife , let's just hope that King Charles doesn't ruin things , before William gets a chance.

Mel, Charles is not everyone's cup of tea (I like him) but the thing that will ruin it for Charles is the media, they will look for every opportunity to compare him with his late mother the queen.

Its possible he will not fit into the roll as king and hand the keys to William in the near future, only time will tell.

Just because it's on 24hrs a day doesn't mean you have watch it continuously. Some people work shifts and don't get to watch during peak viewing hours. I think you will also find that the Queen is not described as they.

I reckon you're right about the media dave 👍.

the death of a monarch is something most will only see once in their lifetime.i can appreciate that many people will want to watch and follow every aspect of what is happening.i myself have no problem with the amount of time given over to it as there are other channels with various rubbish if you wish to be bored by something.as for cancelling events i cannot see the reason.the horse racing was pulled but she loved horses and racing i know of lots of clay shooting that has been cancelled yet there again she spent many days on moors and driven shoots with her husband so again something she very much approved of.i am afraid it is just another example of this woke society that we live in at this moment in time.

And millions don't, it's about choice.

I'd just like to listen to the radio while I work without all the sombre music or endless fawning conversation.

You're right , it's about choice . You have the choice of listening to it , or turning it off 👍.

Put a CD on? Play something through your phone?

The countryfile special was very good, I really am amazed that people can moan about the coverage, Antiques road show on now, so I'll turn over, it's that simple.

What sort of an answer is that?

So we must all comply and pay homage to the monarchy or be silent?

You do realise it's 2022 and not 1822 don't you?

It's the sort of answer where I agreed with you entirely.  You said it's about choice , and I agreed with you . I'm guessing that you aren't being held down and forced to listen to it , so you're obviously listening to it by choice . If you don't like it , just turn it off. It really is as simple as that.

I'd like to add, Whilst I am anti royalty, I appreciate many aren't and are entitled to grieve, mourn and remember.

I'm just trying to say we need some balance for those of us not affected.

Someone has died and my sympathies go to her family, it's the institution I'm against, not her as a person.

Anyway, must go, I can see people approaching Wymondley castle with pitchforks and burning torches.

Like most people I have watched the news and that's about it , no doubt there is a lot of interesting clips that have never been shown before but everything have got it's limitations and I just cannot get involved with day time television , we have had a lot of mixed views on this thread and that is only to be expected , but nobody are being forced to do anything and we can still please ourselves , either we want to watch everything that is being recorded , watch small parts or switch it off , even I can turn it off , and if I can do it then everyone can .

P S   I did watch the last half hour of Country file and really enjoyed it , the scenery was breath taking and the royal family looked very relaxed .

They certainly did, who would have pictured them having a BBQ, And like you said, breathtaking scenery, it's no wonder the Royal family liked to escape to the Highlands.

Listening to some of the footage today,  I wonder if the Queen planned to die in Scotland,  if she hadn't then none of today's events would have taken place, it showed in my eyes that the Scots loved the Queen and this hopefully helps keep the Union strong?

was it ? the crafty BBC , I'm so sorry I enjoyed watching it Now !

I watched it too. Lots of past tense chatter on a programme produced in MMXV111 (2018). Was interesting in places with stunning scenery !!!

Just to add,,,, been watching quite a lot of the current coverage, but picking and choosing what and when.

You would have thought they would have had something new waiting in the wings rather than wheeling out a years old repeat.

It does make you wonder if she knew that her time was up 🤔🤔

I agree with this .

The passing of the Queen ,  has saddened me much more than I ever thought that it would , and ,  I've found the constant TV coverage very comforting .

I've learned more about the Queen,  and our traditions,  in the last two days , than I've learned in my previous 54 years.

So So True
