TIGHTCHOKE
Well I would offer that as he now has a lot of spare time on his hands, he is strengthening his influence for when he is not an MP. Boris is amongst many things an opportunist!

oldypigeonpopper
Hello, if Boris fell in a slurry pit he would still come out smelling of roses 🤔, will he go down as the worst prime minister in UK history, as for Ukraine I would not put it past him to have an ulterior motive 🤔 Edited January 23, 2023 by oldypigeonpopper

He was in Davos also at the WEF before the Ukraine jaunt. He is acting like he is still PM and the UK Taxpayer has to fund his security for these jaunts, not sure why Sunak doesn't stop him. He will lose his seat so doesn't care about actually doing the job he is paid for. Edited January 23, 2023 by Weihrauch17

Strange you should say that. I was only today hearing about some of the consortia being brought together for the rebuilding program. It's going to be a very big earner, just need to have a foot in the euro camp within the team.

The UK teams had to partner be part of US led groups. In the case of Ukraine the likely largest funder will be the EU and they will call the shots proportionately. With Ukraine there will be lots of construction work (rather than the focus on planning as in Libya). The Germans (technical infrastructure) and Eire (building work) will be well positioned. What side of the fence will Boris be on? I guess if the Russians don't get Zelensky the corruption scandel will.

oowee
I was thinking they will have more money than they can manage. I was there in 2010 and a one of the key challenges is to modernise the farming structure. Some of the best farmland and of great interest to US investors. The legacy legal framework from the Soviet era would not allow foreign investment to work properly. The same will likely be true of mining, telecoms, power, water and so on. How to ensure that the vast tide of cash that follows realy does benefit the country rather than create another group of Oligarchs? 9 minutes ago, Weihrauch17 said: One of many articles on the subject. https://www.aljazeera.com/opinions/2022/8/11/ukraine-needs-a-jubilee Which is why they are asking for Billions in finance or is that just corruption and they don't need it?
