Here's something that those against shooting don't want you to do

Recommended Posts

Shooting’s opponents don’t want you to join the 82,000 of us who have already visited the Home Office website to complete the firearms licensing consultation. That’s all the more reason why it is fundamentally important you do - if you have not already done so.

UK gun lobby accused of helping to ‘skew’ consultation on tightening laws

With only days to go until the consultation closes, time is running out for you to join the thousands who have already made their voice count and fought back against those who seek to ban shooting.

Although 82,000 is a good number it also seems very low when put against the number of SGC’s on issue this year…. Nearly 600,000

it does make you wonder how many of those 600,000 actually know about this, bit like the number of SGC holders who shoot live quarry and are unaware of the GL.

Based on the generally acknowledged number of 600,000 licence holders, this represents a 13.666% response. Very good compared to the usual 1 - 2% survey response, but it beggars belief that over 86% have not got off their backside!!!

How many of those are not affiliated with BASC or CPSA, or read this forum? I would suggest at least 10 shooter friends had no idea about this until I mentioned it. I think it unfair to say they haven't bothered, as you don't know what you don't know.

Your friends didn’t know until you told them - now they know. That’s how single interest networks function and that’s how most people find out. Good on you - for doing your bit! As many of the gun shops are on it too, it’s difficult to imagine folk not knowing. Perhaps a few cave dwellers….. 🙂. I have told several in my personal network and some have / haven’t bothered. You can lead a horse to water……… etc.

Fine piece of journalism that is. Seem to blame the current laws for Plymouth and a bit further down admit it was down to the police who should never have returned and possibly never granted that persons license as they had a history of violent acts from what's been said...

And as for trying to skew the results, isn't that what the opponents will be doing by spreading on social media and such?

Thanks, we don't know how many of those visits to the survey via our website will translate into completed responses but I would estimate around 50,000. NRW were quick to confirm 42,000 responses to their consultation on gamebird releasing at the end of the consultation, the Home Office may be slower but we will be asking them.
