Gordon R
Dan Jarvis and Tom Tugendhat - Labour and Tory, but I would vote for either as PM. Starmer is beyond mediocre and Sunak doesn't seem to grasp that he is heading for disaster.

Agriv8
Out local con candidate is out and about not just running up to elections! As a man in the middle I might have voted for him ! Yellow Bear
The decision we all have to make is "where to vote that does the least damage to my lifestyle" Reform sounds good but like ukip, until they have a local government base they are a wasted national gov vote which could let in either major party to your detriment depending on your views. They do not need to care?

That's why we need a dose of right and left so we end up somewhere in the middle. At least they both pretend to want what is best for uk plc. The US seems to have lost the plot altogether. Gordon R
Quote The US seems to have lost the plot altogether. I suspect they say the same about us. Out of Starmer Sunak, Trump and Biden - Donald is the only one I would vote for, which is a sad indictment of the state of politics.

Germany, the largest European economy is in a worse state than us and has been in recession since the middle of last year. in 4 years of the last 5 there has been the biggest worldwide/European upheaval since the 1940's (covid and Ukraine) so you're seriously tarring the current UK government with the blame for it? Tories have been in place for the last dozen. Recession is one thing but economic decline and the parlous state of finance is another. Record debts, record taxation. Poor public services, housing crisis, green pledges broken, power generation inadequate, legal aid broken, prison service overwhelmed, armed services under staffed, nhs short of doctors, brexit. I cannot think of one area of govt that is performing well and now we have cuts in standards and attacks on our human rights. So yes I do put the blame at the tories door. I wish we had the economic position of the German economy.
