Rob85
I never got to see it live but turkey winning a silver medal with a guy who looks like he's shooting cans off his back fence. There's a lot to be said for skill over fancy equipment

Going slightly off track Dave , why can't they show you a small live photo of the clay the person is shooting at , I watched the final bit of our gold medal winner shooting trap , it was nigh on impossible to see the clay and the only interest was he was shooting for his country , what he was shooting at I can only guess . MM Because the clay direction is random and a camera cannot find follow and focus on a clay travelling fast, by the time it had tried the clay is shattered by the speed of the shooter. TIGHTCHOKE
Yusuf Dikec won silver in his 5th Olympic games and took far less specialist equipment and just got on with it. Good on him. Edited August 1 by TIGHTCHOKE Syntax.

Imagine how different the medal table could look if the shooting sports done away with things like specialist rifle slings, shooting jackets, visors to blank one eye etc

Yes I understand there is a logical reason why that can't be done , but with all the modern tech nowadays where they can capture a bullet in flight you would think they could come up with something better than standing behind the person who is shooting and just watch him / her pointing the gun in the general direction and pulling the trigger , it don't really make it compulsive viewing , well that's only my thinking . oowee
That is a true sportsman. If you have a go at any pistol target shooting, the skill level required is insane.

toontastic
As it was a mixed doubles event, congratulations must also go to his shooting partner. Apparently she also displayed a laid back attitude when shooting.
.357shooter
bit like all the gear and no idea.other sports if you have money it does give you an edge ie bench rest shooting.just hope some idiot coach does not get his hands on him and tell him he is doing everything wrong and must do the right thing just like in archery. enfieldspares
I always mostly shot pistols with both eyes open. Shotgun too. But rifles unless on a CQB Range I shot with one eye closed at moment of firing.

Mice!
Seen a few things moaning that his shooting partner isn't getting a mention, probably because he looked like he'd just showed up and shot. But take a look at this picture, the hand in the pocket must have been a training method, well shot both of them.
