decoy1979 Posted August 16 Report Share Posted August 16 I guess it depends how you view it, £17 a year or £1.40 a month over the term of your certificate. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't pay if I didn't have to but relative to the other costs of shooting I don't see it as a major expense. There is nothing 'medical about the form', there is no liability implied or incurred by the signor or the reviewer of the form. There is no need for any 'review, intervention or interview'. For the Doctors to charge as much as they do and or to refuse to sign just shows (IMO) how ignorant of the process and how self centered they are. These companies are making a fortune and your doctor still has to do the same amount of work, it's ludicrous. All thanks to Chief Inspector Fraser (Freedom) Lamb (ret) who pushed for and implimented the process in Scotland in 2016. Have a quick search for him on Google .... he was at the SCOTTISH ASSOCIATION FOR COUNTRY SPORTS (the Firearms Licensing Specialist and Management Committee member)/gamekeeper turned poacher, but i've not seen 'hide nor hare' of him of late.
