Scully
1 minute ago, Cjbram said: Is it best just to knock on doors then Have never had to do it, but a farming mate sometimes gets a knock on the door from folk looking for somewhere to shoot. It sometimes works. As daunting as it seems, they can only say no.

As Scully said they can only say no….or if your lucky yes.

marsh man
15 minutes ago, Cjbram said: Is it best just to knock on doors then The first thing you need to do before finding out who the landowner is , is to find the field you are asking permission for , you will also need to get the crop right , very easy to make the mistake in saying it is o s r and then it turn out it is a field of fodder beet for sheep grazing . don't call round when he is just about to sit down for his dinner and if he do give you the go ahead then don't take any of your mates until you have got on friendly terms . Good Luck and depending on where you are then you might need some luck if everyone around your way is looking for the same thing . Takes twenty to thirty years normally!
