Ow much...!!!  £31.80 !!, just to walk through the door. + getting there and parking + something to eat and drink.  So you can say goodbye to at least £50.  Just to mooch round and  look at stalls of overpriced stuff that you probably wouldn't go out to buy.  I'm not tight fisted and if I want something I  go and buy it BUT do I pay the above to go into a shop and buy stuff.... NO I DON'T..AND IF I were to go to a gunshop and they tried to charge me to go in to  BUY FROM THEM I would decline and go elsewhere.   What planet are these people from.?  AND £19.80 for children 3yrs old +  .... consider this... IF I WANTED TO BUY / SPEND £50 ODD POUNDS I would go into a gunshop and spend the money over their counter.  I would get £50 of goods and they would get that money without paying a fortune for a pitch.

You do realise it’s the organisers charging the entry fee don’t you, not the stall holders?

Yes I do but why do shops go there.  Think how much that the shops are laying out for small returns maybe.

ANYWAY I  wouldn't  pay that much just to go in and mooch round looking at random stuff.

SO. whose going ,!

How do you suppose the venue makes revenue? Not thinking of the actual price of this but in the current financial climate where the costs are so high, it must be sink or try to swim?

I am going Saturday, I’ve not been for a few years, last time I went it was terribly overcrowded and you could not even get into some of the stalls, it was verging on dangerous really, hopefully that’s not the case this time.

That was my experience too, so many people it was impossible to view anything of interest to buy?

My local RFD had a stand a few years back (not sure if they went back). I asked him how it went and he said they made a loss of £2000 odd. I then said so a massive waste of time then, his reply was no, I manged to get rid of loads of old stock guns, that simply would not have sold in the shop, so I (him) would probably have ended up having to pay for them to be destroyed. Which he said would have been far more than his loss.

A few people got some bargains and he got rid of stock, which freed up space for more.

Because it’s a big event that will hopefully attract a big attendance. Think of it as a big market.
It’s the same with art fairs; you don’t just get galleries there you get individual artists also, all hopefully taking advantage of a hugely increased footfall.
The first time I did a big art fair I made a loss….stall fees plus accommodation over four days, food, time off work etc etc, but it got my work seen by various galleries who I now sell through on a regular basis.
It’s a gamble admittedly, but it’s also a huge social occasion, and they’re all getting their wares out there to a newer and wider audience.
