Just a few general photos of the farm Gents.  Western Alberta Canada.

We get all sorts of wildlife here , inc. whitetail deer, Mule deer, Moose, Elk, odd bear, and cougars.

Cougars killed six foals belonging to a neighbour before they managed to track and shoot him. A big tom.

Grizzlies and wolves rather scarce, but do show up.

Have tracked wolves here, but they had their mind made up where they were going and straight lined it west.

Last but one is clearing a trail to my shooting range.

Best,

 but do show up....  ;;

question,,, How ODD are the bears,? 😁

it looks pretty BUT ,,,  Roll on global warming.

Edit.. The other way... a really nice bloke from SOMEWHERE in Canada has moved about a mile up the road from me.   A really nice bloke. He said that he used to shoot all sorts out in  Canada.   He said that he has loads of pictures in albums that he'd show me. But I  haven't been yet.  Maybe in the summer I'll drop in for a cup of tea with him.

Great pics. Do you run a trap line out there at all?

Good afternoon Hushpower,

No, my knees complain badly these days so no trap line!

I have traps clean and wax treated for in case, but not in use.

Got my snowshoes mended and new lamp wick as bindings but managed to not use them yet!

Have a .22-250 for varmints.

Minky,

"How odd are the bears?"

Lol!

Bears are funny people!

They will graze in fields with cows, but sometimes try and swat a calf.

Had a calf a few years back with a couple of pounds of meat missing out of one ham.

He'd either been swatted by a bear or a wolf had dabbed him.

No way could I catch him to treat him, and his mother was wild and protective.

She kept his wound clean and the hide and hair grew back, but always had a great hollow where that muscle got took out.

An old bloke l lnew now long gone but a one time guide and outfitter once said to me "l've never gone looking for a grizzly bear"

,"Oh. Why's that?"

" 'Cos I never lost one!"
