  1. Virtually all the tradesmen insist on cash only
  2. That's probably legally correct. A Public House can refuse to serve anyone but they can't deny access or ask people to leave unless they are committing an offence. Its an archaic law that goes back to the old definition of 'public' in the name public house. It comes up most often when people want to use the toilets without buying a drink, the pub can't refuse them. By that definition a pub can't really put on doormen to filter out the patrons but obviously they do in city centres Friday and Saturday
  3. Technically they can do that now through fire regs
  4. Hermes and Yodel use casual drivers to deliver their parcels, housewives and retired people out to earn a few extra pounds using their own cars, they can be good or bad, nobody really cares they are not employees, they are not even on zero hours contracts, they get 40p a parcel and are 'supposedly' self employed but I doubt many have ever registered with HMRC. Just like I don't suppose many have told their insurers they are using the vehicles to deliver parcels. Welcome to the real world, this is the Gig economy
  5. Its a hard left scam, a woman on the radio who's 14 year old daughter signed up to an innocent looking vegan "recipe" website saw the daughter bombarded with heavy and violent political brainwashing emails inviting her to attack all sorts of people who worked for pharmaceutical companies etc Names and addresses provided. Along the lines of if you live near these people go and let their tyres down or put a brick through their window. These are not people whose principal interest is healthy eating.
  6. I like the way the cops on real life US police fly on the wall programmes stand on either side of the front door of a house, guns drawn, when knocking aggressively and shouting POLICE OPEN UP!. The walls on most US houses are made of 1/2" shiplap and wouldn't stop a bullet fired from inside..
  7. They said that the misunderstood comment about "there may never have been a drone in the first place" was based on the fact they had no CCTV evidence because all the security cameras are pointed at the ground not up into the sky. Surely in this day and with the terrorist threat around the world every inch of that airport should be monitored?
  8. Yes but you are going to have a job talking your way out of it when you get pulled over by a police car who's ANPR is saying no mot
  9. That's not what I believe to be the case, as soon as your fail is logged onto the computer your car will be registering as no MOT on ANPR by the following day.
  10. My boxing day evening will be wasted spent on the M4 stuck behind some idiot in a big 4x4 with a LED rear light cluster that destroys my night vision for ten miles every time he totally unnecessarily hits his brakes for no obvious reason.
  11. Can I just be nosey and ask why you want the barrel shortened?
  12. it doesn't take much imagination to see the potential a drone has, in places like Afghanistan high value targets are routinely taken out by drones. What one man can build another man can copy.
  13. The police don't have to sanction the release of their names, once they start searching the house the neighbours will be queuing up to tell the papers
  14. It was always a bubble because there was nothing of any value propping it up. Mind you that's true of all money these days.
  15. We were discussing this last night. The general view was that this could easily constitute International Air terrorism which would carry a very hefty jail sentence, possibly 20 years or more. What ever happens they are going to make an example of them in a very big way to deter others doing the same
  16. Drink a bottle of whisky and you won't be able to anything with your willy except wave it!
  17. I am at a complete loss to understand what would motivate anybody to pay those sort of prices in the first place for a bottle of whisky (or wine).
  18. You have to look at this dispassionately and realise that all she was trying to avoid was a £60 fine and three points on her licence. now she faces jail (I hope), the loss of her parliamentary career , plus as she is a solicitor she will probably be disbarred, and a massive legal bill. Incredible arrogance, she really believed she was untouchable
  19. ^^^^^^this. He so clearly said it there was no way he could hope to get out of it. Speaks volumes about his integrity (or lack of!)
  20. Tony Blair simply needed to create a new dependant underclass to maintain the Labour vote because they were losing the support of the traditional working class voters in the Labour heartlands.. Who they were and how they were come by didn't bother him over much. Opening the floodgates to unrestricted immigration was a quick fix. In that respect his plan has worked, high immigrant areas are all labour seats. Then Gordon Brown consolidated the position by increasing the benefits and introducing new benefits to ensure they were always going to be voting Labour
  21. I always have a (fake) leatherman in a 'pouch/case' on a workbelt in the boot of all the cars . Along with an LED head light plus some rubber gloves, spare bulbs and fuses, rubber mat
  22. I would like to know a bit more about why the certificate was revoked first.
  23. Well the contest is called sports personality of the year. Nobody could call Hamilton a personality.
