Starlings have been all but absent around here for about 6-7 years but this year they seem to be back in numbers - several broods flying around trying to avoid the Sparrowhawks.

I would shop around for a used S410, buy a cheap set of mounts off the Bay and a used scope - should be able to source the lot for under £500 and will, if looked after, hold it's value.
