  1. We cheat - everything is cooked slowly in the oven till it's just done then put out on trays in the kitchen - outside in the garden we have a 2 disposable BBQ's on bricks sat on the table where everyone sits.Walk into the kitchen - pick out what you want then back into the garden and pop it on the BBQ till it's done the way you like it. We find it so much easier and everybody, so far, seems to agree that it's fun.
  2. Under the sale of goods act 2015 it is ILLEGAL to exclude or attempt to exclude a buyers statutory rights, what is so difficult to understand? Read the Act. Last comment.
  3. Rewulf - I have no intention of buying the gun, just highlight the fact that some dealers are breaking the law. If you do not believe that a business is breaking the law by stating "no warranty" then simply give CAB a call - it is an offence to remove or attempt to remove someones consumer rights.Come back once you have spoken to them. You will of course be aware that, as from Oct 2015, anything you buy used, from a dealer, is subject to the same warranty cover, as if you had bought the item brand new.Your comment regarding my buying/selling guns is totally irrelevant - those are MY terms of business, anybody not willing to agree with them - I simply dont deal with, no hassle, no bad feelings.Sold a gun just last week and posted it off with no payment being asked for - once the buyer had recieved the gun and checked it over he paid for it, that's how I like to work.
  4. Retired on Medical grounds age 45 (12 years ago) , previous Precision Engineer but worked in plastic recycling industry, mortgage free and wife on a massive pension.
  5. Eurythmics - Annie Lennox surely has one of the greatest voices of all time yet never seems to get recognition for it - live, she is outstanding.
  6. No simple solution here at all OF - when a well known dealer is clearly breaking the Law it's a sad state of affairs - some poor chap may have spent all his hard earned cash on such a gun then think he has no back up whatsoever. The very statement of "no warranty"is actually an offence in itself. AFAIK commission sales are a different story - if the money is paid to the seller then no warranty is acceptable, but if you were to pay the dealer then the contract is between you and the dealer and would, no doubt, leave him with some portion of liability?
  7. Plenty of PTFE tapes out there that will handle pressures well in excess of that found in a puff gun - PTFE tape is also good to prevent the seizure of threaded components.
  8. A trade sale can only be made by a dealer to a customer who is a "trader" of such goods and thus the Law presumes that the buyer is knowledgeable enough to make an informed decision on an items condition. The gun is described as "good condition" in the Ad.
  9. So, scanning a well known "trader" sight and looking at the selection of Rapid 7's ( Air Rifle) I noticed a particular seller advertising a nice example, but at the end of the description was the statement "due to the age of this gun there is no warranty included" - now, as far as I know this is totally illegal unless the gun is sold as spares or a non firing item? Anybody know any different? To my mind I would avoid a dealer that attempts to ignore consumer rights.
  10. Land near us shows similar marks - local chaps seem to think it was caused by excavations to see if the land was suitable to build on.
  11. Some people just seem to have the knack - guy I used to shoot with seemed to be able to walk past a Farm and the owner would come running out after him begging him to shoot there! Be confident and if you are rejected ask if you can come back in a years time and ask again - gives the impression that you are not just a chancer. Learn a little about farms and crops - it pays if you can engage the farmer in conversation that he feels comfortable with.
  12. First step - try a totally different cartridge. If you already have then next on the list if it were me would be to make sure that the ejectors are moving freely.
  13. That does seem a little "keen" Vic - my insurance is less for a 4.4l v8 with various disabilities and being blind in one eye plus a speeding conviction and a total loss claim 4 years ago.
  14. First you need to be able to stop him in his tracks. Once you have achieved that you should be able to stop him before he actually has chance to take a jump in his excitement, you then need to enlist the help of a friend or willing family member and get them to put their hand out as he comes to greet them - push him back with the open hand against his chest and force him to sit - then reward him - no stop and sit - no reward.
  15. First year Chilli growing virgin - just been downt greenhouse and my Cherry Bomb and Habanero's have flowers growing - well chuffed, nothing yet from my Bell Peppers though.

    The War

When my daughter studied History '0' Level the topic her class had to study regarding WW2 was it's effect on German night life i.e. How Theatre audience numbers dropped and people spent less time and money entertaining themselves!!
  17. Going to need to pop that piston in a Lathe and check the head is still cylindrical at the washer end - TIR clock will soon show any need to skim it. Make sure you soak any new leather washers in Neatsfoot oil overnight - beg, steal or borrow a cap full from someone as it would take several lifetimes to use a whole bottle of the stuff. I would replace the countersunk screw with a allen headed version - less than a squid on the bay.
  18. I wouldn't touch it - any modifications you do will wipe out any future value as a collectors piece - not many of these around and in unfired/mint condition the value is only going to go one way?
  19. That's bad news Sir. In this day and age I'm certain that you are better off being pro active where your health is concerned, even to a point of doing Medical research yourself. If one centre is closed go to another and never let any complacent pen push fob you off. Read up on your Ailments, treatment and side effects of any Meds likely to be given - for warned and all that - trust me, Doctors do not know everything. Question everything and always aim to be seen by the most senior Consultant, talk to them like you would a best mate and they will remember you above the hundreds of other patients they treat - it can pay you back ten fold. I wish you the very best of luck, be positive, I always believed that if you can worry yourself into being ill then a positive mental attitude can only help your recovery.

    The War

1 day a year is enough to thank the millions of victims of wars who perished so that you have the freedom to decide how much gratitude you owe them ? - your very life is a direct result of their selfless deeds and honourable actions. I HOPE YOU FIND YOUR PODIUM A VERY LONELY PLACE.
  21. When we first introduced our puppy to our older dog (both ESS) - he spent the first night in her bed and they got on fine - I dont think you will have any problems at all.
  22. The Bay has become a hot bed for con men and thieves - been looking for a Motorhome around the 10-12k mark and there are about 10 that stand out - but the name of the seller keeps changing and the Business address listed has never heard of him. More annoying are sellers who state that they are UK based - only if China has moved!! Why cant Ebay sort these jokers out? There's a seller on the site at the moment who seems to have hundreds if vehicles for sale starting at 99p, Cars,Bikes and Motorhomes .
  23. NEVER use a Dremil to get varnish out of your Butt groove! Love the turning on the outside of the cylinder - feedrate of about .5mm/rev at a guess.
  24. When I first switched over I thought I was watching the Comedy channel - LardBoy spent all the time hiding behind his hands. It's watching garbage like this that reminds me how good some boxers really were - the likes of Ali, Tyson and Frazier spring to mind.
