  1. My local dealer is happy to get any gun advertised by an RFD and let me view it at his shop-if I like it then the sale goes ahead-I guess that he pays a better price than can get the gun for and makes a few pounds out of the difference. If the gun is not as expected then I would simply pay return postage-normally £15.
  2. Winchester-the others don't even come close.
  3. Age on a gun of this quality is unimportant-it will outlast you and your kids, Nick, - if I didn't have 10 guns in a 5 gun cabinet I would have bought this by now
  4. Why local?-you could get a better price shopping around and its perfectly legal to post a Shotgun minus the barrels.
  5. Bless her and may she enjoy a speedy recovery before enjoying a new lease of life-it will probably take months before she realises just how weak she was before the Transplant and she will have to suffer the side effects of suppressants but assure her that most will wear off in time-may sound obvious, and her consultant will tell her anyway, but do not let anyone near her who may be carrying a bug no matter how minor the risk may seem- the early days are very important and she needs to build up her strength again-best of luck to you both.
  6. I might look that article up evo-but what's it about and where do I look for it?-should I search by the authors name? Do you know who wrote it?
  7. Normally 12 traps on a Sporting layout-positions/angles/birds change most times we visit-Hot drinks/food are readily available and served by 2 young ladies that are rather pleasing on the eye . I'm sure they buy special clays that are allergic to some kinds of shot-usually mine and the Rabbit, when on, is entertaining to say the least-some walk in front of you whilst some never put their feet on the ground and simply rocket past you breaking the sound barrier-a box of tissues to dry your tears will be handy . Tends to be chilly so if you feel the cold make sure you wrap up well.
  8. I think that, after 6 months, the onus is on the owner to prove that the fault was present at point of sale or that the problem is due to a manufacturing fault-but the 3 year warranty should cover a fault such as this.
  9. Didn't think they were being made any more? Pretty sure that Wabbitbosher has got one in near mint for pennies-usually has
  10. Yep-Son and I bin going for over a year-Son has won the Colts Trophy 2 years running-free Coach if you need advice as a beginner (Ginger-top man) and the owner, Lou, is a true gent.
  11. Here here if you are in a bar etc and a group of you and your mates are enjoying a debate you let it take its course-its all just a collection of opinions that each individual has the right to engage in or simply listen to -if someone changes the direction of the discussion then should they be silenced? No-not in a free society
  12. Would gluing half an empty shell case inside the loop work?-or try Timpsons or any shoe repair co. and see if they can run a line of stitching up one side of the loop about a mm inside the existing stitch.
  13. Re joint the barrels is around the £80 mark and any decent Gunsmith should have an old extractor that could be made to fit-if she needs tightening after the rejoint then add around £30-these jobs don't have to be sky high price wise if you shop around and if the gun is half decent then it deserves some attention.
  14. TBH you need to go a long way to beat the S410-it has stood the test of time and is still one of the best guns out there, spares are cheap and readily available as are a wealth of custom parts-some people say that the blueing is not brilliant but mine is 7 years old and has a flawless finish. Of all the Airguns I have owned my S410 is the only one to have produced two 5 shot one hole groups over 25 yards (had a Daystate that managed it once but spent more time being repaired than used) in my hands-it is also the one I have kept the longest.
  15. Seems daft to say but he just looks like a nice fella-sort of man you would walk over to at a gathering if you were alone and start chatting to, RIP, Sir.

Our Government will give their full attention to ensuring the safety of UK citizens from these subhuman scum just as soon as they have finished building them houses and sorting out their benefits as they flood in to our Country.
  17. Any Antiques fair or even car boot sale should turn up several likely looking tools-normally square wooden handles are a good sign but look around the interweb to know what to look for-then buy yourself a cheap bench grinder (circa £30) and grind the tips to fit your screws.
  18. There are hundreds of cheap guns out there if you want performance-your Boswell should be fed Eley Grand Prix paper cased cartridges and enjoyed like a fine wine-using her should evoke a sense of occasion
  19. Had one of these a few years back-brilliant gun and one of my most regretted sales-Browning quality at Lanber prices.
  20. Not sure where I stand now, skill wise, started life as a Precision Engineer, then built/serviced plastic recycling machines before stripping cars in a scrap yard-but stripped many a gun in between. If the OP is confident with hand tools (and many are not) then I don't see any problems at all with him removing the locks-he didn't mention stripping the locks down which is a totally different kettle of banana's (and requires at the very least a spring compressor) so pop em out buddy-if moisture is your concern just spray them with WD40 then remove as much dirt as you can by using compressed air (airgun charging cylinder is perfect)-give them a wipe over with a lightly oiled cloth and use a cocktail stick to drip tiny amounts of oil on the pivot pins etc-do not over oil. After a few outings pop the locks out again and make sure that no oil has escaped onto the surrounding woodwork-wipe it with kitchen tissue if it has-if you still have access to an air line/ cylinder then give the locks another blast of air to remove any oil that has not seeped down the pivot pins etc.
  21. "Ensuring the gun is in legal limits is something that responsible owners are supposed to do"-10/10-but it's something that a Dealer is LEGALLY required to do and NO mistakes are acceptable under any circumstances-if you want to promote a business that was negligent and sold you a firearm then be my guest. As for HW's being delivered over power-the responsibility is theirs obviously-so maybe you can sing their praises as well.
  22. Simple job-much easier than a Boxlock-2 or 3 screws that should not be tight (they are not under any load) and you are away-a tap may be needed to get them to drop out and make sure that you push the triggers forwards as you replace each lock-some locks are even detachable without using any tools at all. ps-might pay you to make sure that the locks are "cocked" before removal.
  23. Really looks like corrosion to me-the filler cap is plastic, I believe, and the action is powder coated Alloy as far as I know
  24. "or run a chrono test"-as the police are within their rights to do?-unlikely maybe but where would you be now if they had-you were clearly in possession of a Firearm and I have a pound to bet against a penny of pig**** that the shop would have suggested that you had tampered with it-yet you sing their praises? IMHO they were very lucky to get away with forking out a few pounds for selling a Firearm to an unlicensed member of the public-not to mention the dealer to whom you handed a Firearm who altered it and gave it back to you-what a legal minefield?
  25. So you're singing the praises of a dealer that sold you an illegal gun?-How would you have stood had you been stopped by the police on the way home and they submitted the gun for testing?
