  1. Its a Gamo-why would you??-it's even named after a dog so the clue is there. When the Rotex is about the same money is there a choice?
  2. Quick update regarding this gun-finally heard back from Tula in Russia and this gun was of a very limited run of exhibition grade guns made by their most experienced Gunmakers using high grade componants inc Walnut stocks!! If anyone on PW has ever seen another one please let me know.
  3. My S410 classic does everything so well that to change it would be pointless-had more Air Rifles than I care to recall and the very best have been from the AA stable-considering a Walther Rotex in .22 flavour but the S410 will remain top gun.
  4. Never had any luck at all with Owl deeks-just make the local Blackbirds shriek all day. I think movement is the answer for Crows-a flapper decoy over a dead Rabbit would be my best guess?
  5. None of my business of course, and I loved the idea of the Partridge day, but I feel that Pheasants with a .410 is not a marriage made in heaven-gonna get slated, no doubt, but just my pennies worth
  6. We have an Aldi one and its brilliant-we bought it when they sold them off at a discount for £90, I think, about a year ago-I think Lidl are about to sell a similar unit. Ours is used in the Cabin where my daughter lives and is on a timer to run for 3 hours early in the morning over the winter months-it takes about a week to take out a litre but the difference is obvious-no mould behind furniture and no damp in the air. I also use it in my shed where I store my motorbikes-as the shed is metal it can suffer with condensation but the dehumidifier dries the whole area out in about 4 hours and is needed about every 2 weeks depending on weather. Don't buy the little ones as they are pretty much carp and as for drying the air out too much-the Aldi one allows you to set the humidity level that you prefer and turns itself on and off to maintain that level.
  7. My 525 is choked CYL & SK and has no problems shattering clays on Sporting layouts using 27gm Power Reds #7.5-my guess would be that if you used 30gm # 6's thru your CYL choke then you would struggle to find a better gun for use over decoys.
  8. Our year old will run like the wind for hours till he collapses in a heap for a few minutes-then he's off again-then, in the evening he begs to sit on the other half where he falls asleep-would not part with my springers for all the Tea in China.
  9. Those in power already know that the majority of this country want out-but they are determined to buy time to bring confusion, doubt and fear to the voters-we were lied to when we agreed to join the EU and we will be lied to again.
  10. Pray silence while Mr Hamster lists all the things that an OU can do that a SxS was not doing a hundred years ago-don't bother with multi chokes cos that can be done if you so desire. Such statements as his demanded pistols at dawn in my day .
  11. IMHO 1/2 and full is too tight for the majority of shooting scenarios-I have all my guns choked at a loose 1/4 and 1/2 - I would open them up more if I knew I would be keeping them forever but it puts some people off-I shoot Sporting clays with my 525 choked at SK& Cyl and have never failed to powder any clay that I hit at any range.
  12. London built SxS Sidelock in 16 gauge from the 1890-1930 period would be my guess.
  13. I think that Sausage Rolls that are stunned before being killed are to be allowed but not on Bank holidays ( to avoid Religious upset) although if free range Quorn is used then its ok to eat them all year round.
  14. After reading a great many of your posts , Chris, I doubt that anyone would label you as stupid Sir
  15. All that hassle to go from 3/4 to 1/2??-is it really worth it? As for little resale value cos its a 28"- that really pains me, barrel length fashions come and go and if you shoot well with yours then why the heck change anything?- would be an interesting experiment to blindfold a number of shooters and see if they can feel the difference between 28" & 30" tubes-I'm betting none, besides, when the gun is mounted and you are watching the birdy your barrel length is totally lost.
  16. Are you downwind of the Wychwood Brewery?-just wondering

Good condition-but the chest pocket has been removed on the left hand side (doesn't affect the jacket at all)-Jacket is a tight xxl but the arms are quite short-the trousers are a tight 38" (with a short leg) so 40" would work with a belt! Free to collector in MK or would post at cost. Ideal for pigeon shooting and a change from boring old cammo.
  19. Halfords-value for money...Christ on a bike-how long ago was that? The place is simply an outlet for goods that just happen to be car parts-you would get better mechanical advice from your nearest Mc Donnalds in most cases. Only time I go is when they sell the 5ltr oils at £10 in which case I buy 4 or 5 and keep my car serviced for pennies.
  20. If we come out of the EU will prices for land not crash as the large subsidies paid to landowners cease?
  21. Muzzle velocity is just that-velocity at the muzzle-by the time the pellets have gone a few inches they are losing speed so you cannot work out range/time without knowing the feet /s/s that the pellet slows down by.
  22. I think they are struggling as I seem to recall that they are short staffed-best just ring them and ask-they are always polite and very helpful.
